FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOLLYWOOD COMES TO HOLLYWOOD IN SPECIAL HONOR FOR YOUNG SINGER
NORTH HOLLYWOOD - He hails from one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities
in the world - Varanasi, located on the banks of the Ganges River in Northeastern India.
And yet he is one of its youngest inhabitants, this recently turned 13-year-old singing
sensation that is taking India by storm - Yatharth Ratnum Rastogi.
For the first time, however, Yatharth will be honored in America with a special award for
Outstanding International Vocalist. The recognition will come April 11 at the 31st
Annual Young Artist Awards to be held at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn Hotel in
North Hollywood.
A star of India's national L'il Champs talent show on Zee TV, a cross between America's
Got Talent and American Idol, Yatharth captivated audiences each week on the program
which features only young talent. The singers in competition all sing well known songs
from famous Bollywood movies and are judged by professional adult singers and guest
adult singers and composers.
Consistently winning over his many challengers, Yatharth won additional hearts when he
performed as one of its three finalists. This grand finale was held in a huge sports arena
in Mumbai. And although he came in second place it didn't deter his many fans who call
Yatharth "The Varanasi Romeo."
Nor did second place deter the officials of the Young Artist Awards, who each year honor
the best performances by youth in films and TV. The Hollywood based non-profit
organization, now in its 31st year of handing out awards, will also honor several dozen
other child and teen stars, who will be judged for their performances in productions in
2009.
