since the starting of AR journey, one thing riddhima's character has always maintained throughout is her impulsiveness, her inability to understand things to depth. yes, whatever the situation maybe, she never weighed the pros and cons and rather behaved spontaneously.
in the second season of dmg, riddhima's character changed, irreversibly sans her impulsiveness, her inability of deep vision of the feelings and situations apalled me, from the day she slapped siddhanth to the present where she is playing with armaan's emotions.
arman and ridhima have suffered a lot. i must say say both of them actually had equal share of their pains and agonies. but the only difference was how deftly or the ways they handled the situations.. creatives have never enlightened what armaan went through all the time while he was recuperating. his psycho-emotional state, his battling for life against death.
first of all the bloopers-
CVs might have not thought about it but it was almost ten months when riddhima got to know the truth about armaan's illness. i expected to see a damage to his person, both mentally and physically. instead they showed him roaming ouside the hospital just for the sake of dragging the storyline. i have never seen a hospital who discharges a patient at his vulnerable best. a psychic person , living in some deserted woods, in a room which is properly made up, everything perfectly at its own place, writing letters so very properly , walking with a normal gait and treating people in some village, when he was so mentally ill!
so, cvs showed us the good amount of fiction.from the day when riddhima actually came in terms of reality regarding armaan's illness, she lost her balance.
being a girl, i could relate to her pain but some how i could never relate to her actions, and that too a girl so caring like riddhima as we saw in first season. she pestered siddhanth, said so many great things to her parents{pun intended}.
dr. shashank never wanted riddhima to mingle with armaan bu gradually he started accepting the fact. on shoot out day, we actually saw the biased attitude of a father," riddhima , hamesha armaan ki wajah se problems mein hoti hai!". the statement actually indicated a lot many things. and yes dr. shashank's attitude was clearly visible to armaan.'
after armaan's treatment, he talked to dr. shashank about his illlness[ as seen in flashbacks] but i never saw a single effort from 'father's' side to persuade armaan to stay, to make him realise that he was not alone and that they all loved him.he just let the things be as they were. so a promise was made to armaan by dr. shashank and he kept it.
and after armaan had left he actually realised, that yes. this man loved my daughter selflessly, more that he himself, more than his life and more than anything else.
alas! riddhima believed all the lies! it actually shocked me. armaan was always beside you through thick and thin, how could he leave you solely for your discrepancy? yes, she failed to believe him until the day the truth crashed upon her like hell, taking her out of the artificial life she was living in. she questioned her father , her mother, never wanting to understand that armaan had demanded a promise and they were fulfilling it. she doubted their love and behaved like a lunatic!
' mujhe armaan se koi alag nahi kar sakta, aap nahi bhagwan nahi khud armaan bhi nahi'. these words not only came out of a girl who love a man dearly but also because of her guilt, guilt of not believing armaan's love, failing to trust him..
she finally found armaan in panchgani, who saw her fainted. his love, pain and helplessness clearly visible in his eyes but the determination of saving riddhima's life from his madnes. he wrote a letter removed the tokens of love which adorned her wrist and foot. and whatever unexpected happened afterwards changed their lives drastically. riddhima married siddhanth because of the disgrace that their soiled relationship had brought upon to her and her family, her alleging the body he incident as a rape.
even though medical reports falsified her allegations, nobody tried to change the circumstances. nobody else in the hospital came to know the truth.the way sister padma was treated inhumanely, how much ever a woman does good to others, repent for her mistakes, gets married even after the society demeans her, nothing changes for her. the society never forgets 'such incidents', where they preferably blame woman.
having seen so much in her life, sister padma should have stuck to her daughter's side rather than letting the society deciding the fate of their daughter..
well now siddhant and riddhima have married and it actually seemed that there was no person named armaan in her life, she fell for her husband all of a sudden. she decided to start her life afresh only to find armaan has returned hale and hearty.. rather than wishing him all the best and telling him about the unexpected truth of her marriage, she is asking him' why have you come back?'
on the other hand, armaan is living on false hopes. he would have not a wee bit expected, the unexpected that occurred during his absence. riddhima had damaged many things rather than acting maturely..
she blamed him for everything and demanded an explanation as to why he left her to die and as expected he accepts the fact and feels for his mistake and is asking for forgiveness..
i think she never bothered about the reason he left her like that, neither as a doctor, nor as a lover.. she didn't recall the moments when he was there for her, be it her adoption, be it vivek's attempt to rape, be it saving her from goons, be it when he was there for her even when death was going to snatch her life, be it going away from her to save her from the misery she faced.
she never kept herself at armaan's place and thought. knowing how extremely possessive, passionately loving and always ready to die for her like a selfless person he was!. she never thought that how much troubles he could have faced leaving her when he himself was so ill and needed a backbone to support him mentally and physically.
i had expected her to be angry, deeply angered for doing whatever he thought is good for her and at the same time love him more than before to think about her so deeply and suffering anything without any complaints. i wanted her to think from both the parties as armaan is doing. as much he understands her anger and feels guilty for leaving her, yet his love deepens to remember how she came searching for him, fighting anything that came in between them, as he fought with death to comeback for her.
unfortunately, it seems to be lacking on her part. today he is trying to woo her by his childish and innocent ways, nobody is telling him the truth even when they are not actually helpless as they are trying to show.. why are sid and ridz so helpless to tell about the truth of their marriage, when they are ready to spend their lives for each other? why are they so confused?
they are committing blunders, even after seeing armaan's rising hopes and love for riddhima, how the truth will devastate him and how humiliated he will be for loving and wooing a married girl.
yes , i wonder where is sister stella and the rest of hospital, when you need them the most?
all we want is the truth to be revealed and let riddhima decide what she wants and show some sensible track!
though AR were my favourite couple, i seriously want somebody in armaan's life who understands him as he understand riddhima, who sees through his heart and soul and not blame him for everything!
