Today's episode was laughable to me. More research needs to be done about these styles of dancing. Its hilarious how wrong most of the descriptions were. Being from a hip hop dance background personally, most of the performance were laughable to me.

Dharmesh
: 8/10
I dont like Dharmesh but I do feel he was the best today. Lyrical hip hop looks easy but its certainly not. Although most of the time he was dancing to the "beat" and not the lyrics. But even though it went against his challenge he did hit the beats hard! Im surprised nobody caught that. Usually in Lyrical you only dance to the beats once or twice but his was....lyric-lyric-beat-beat. which isnt right.

Shakti: 7/10:
Her wacking section was the best. But it was still not good enough. It needed to look more feminine. Everything else was okay. Very elementary and basic as someone said before. She didnt really look confident either. Her popping section was underdeveloped.

Wacking IS NOT the "female version of locking or popping" as Remo said. Wacking is a form that is inspired from Voguing and House dance. Its a dance form that is popular in the Gay community. As it takes hip hop and adds a feminie flare to it. Shakti did good but even though she IS A FEMALE, the moves needed a little bit more feminity. But based on her background and exposure she did extremely well! Its not her fault that the form was not thoroughly researched.

Saajan: 6/10
He was alright, But he left the show at the right time bcuz I was getting really bored of him. He's sort of stayed at the same level for the entire show. He hasn't really improved.

Amar 6/10
He was okay. It seemed like he needed a bit more practise. He is good in hip hop but the bboying was a little awkward. He didnt seem fast enough. But it wasnt too bad.

Amrita 6/10
Okay Geeta needs to do her research. She did the aggressive thing very well but Krumping wasn't really shown. She didnt really krump. With Krumping your back needs to pump in and out while having tension in the body! Your back needs to hit in and out very sharp and intensely, al ot of people get spinal injuries becasue of this dance thats how hard-hitting its SUPPOSED TO BE. But if ur gonna krump, do it properly!.....And your not supposed to use any propz. The aggression is supposed to be shown thru your dance moves and attitude. The attitude was there........the correct dance form WASNT........

Here is a good example of what krumping is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtLRQtUeeIE

Binny 4/10
Okay what the hell was that? Her tutting was disgusting. Her hands were not even STRAIGHT. Her hands are supposed to be completely stretched and the movements has to be sharp and intensense. I dont care if she hasnt done it before, these are supposedly the "best" dancers in India. And her expressions were too "look at me mommy look what im doing". Seriously, get this girl out of the competition.

Punit 3/10
I felt like this performance was an insult to MJ. First of all, Punit's expressions were too over the top and too "indian". The girls from last year did a better job than him. I dont even know what to say! So I just wont say anything else!!!!!

Geeta screwed up on all of hers. Seriously wth is wrong with her? Doesnt she know anything? How is she a choreographer?

I did feel bad for Saajan being eliminated! I dont know why I just feel like Remo never utitlized him to his full potential ( like what Terence did with Jack)......I think he thought that his stunts will take him far......I wish he put half the effort he's putting into Punit into Saajan....He surely would've gone far and could've easily been the best dancer on the show with the right guidance!

Personally, I think a lot of ppl don't have that much knowledge abt all these dance forms, like myself, so I just base my evaluation on how entertaining an act was 😛

Ditto! I love your extensive explanation of each dance form. I has given one too but just the basics. I am glad u spoke up in details, but unfortunately many won't really look into it only because they have their own beliefs and favorites. Anyways, thanks Bunty! :)

Bunty's explanation about Dharmesh's Lyrical Hip-hop contradicts your comments on the same! Looks like you missed it. 😛

Haha nope sorry Akanna, I still stand by Dharmesh's lyrical hip hop. Yes buntys explanation for lyrical hip hop is correct and pretty much exactly what I wrote in my little briefing of different hip hop styles. I mentioned that Dharmeshs wasn't as good as Amars but it was different and had a feel good mood to it. I loved his rhythmic timing and his beat timing. :)

This is from YOUR posts -- "Dharmesh (9.5)— I loved his performance. As much as I say i want to see Dharmesh do other styles, I honestly just LOVE watching him do HIp hop!! Lyrical Hip hop is not really Dharmesh's genre, BUT he was perfect. I'm not surprised that he was because even though he is a pop & locker, he has the flow for lyrical hip hop, which most of us might agree on. The DOLL concept was amazing. Dharmesh was actually romantic & expressive, which made me love this dance even more! lol GREAT JOB!! =)" and in another thread, you said -- "Actually, what Dharmesh did was fully Lyrical Hip Hop. You have to be crisp and rhythmic, which he was. His movement was very smooth and light, the way it needs to be according to the lyrics. And this time, Dharmesh was actually very expressive and did very well."

This is what Bunty had said in this thread -- "Dharmesh 8/10 -- I dont like Dharmesh but I do feel he was the best today. Lyrical hip hop looks easy but its certainly not. Although most of the time he was dancing to the "beat" and not the lyrics. But even though it went against his challenge he did hit the beats hard! Im surprised nobody caught that. See the underlined parts in both sets of comments! And if you are still going to argue that you both had the same opinions, then maybe you can fool others here. I rest my case, whether you agree or not, as I have my answers already!! 😊

Wow. You clearly have a lot of knowledge on hip hop.
Thanks for the informative post.
I saw the krumping video you posted. Ok so I have a question for you, did the krumping in that video also have b-boying in it? I noticed one head step of Russell's was similar to one of Amar's steps today.
I don't know, for me I just have a hard time in general differentiating all these styles. I guess it's because I have ZERO knowledge of any of these dance forms. I mean I have tried hip-hop dance but it's been all freestyle and not too technical.
I personally thought Amrita was the best today, but that maybe because I know the LEAST about krumping out of all styles. Just her attitude and aggression was really impressive to me.
But I hear ya, when you say it wasn't proper dance form.
And locking and popping I've still seen from last season etc. so I still had some idea about that dance style. And Shakti's popping was really weak today even I could tell. And Dharmesh too, I felt he was missing something, but I had no idea what exactly. But I did like the choreographies/ concepts of these two dances, they were interesting I thought. And yeah, Amar's performance looked really awkward at times to me too.
Ok about Binny, I actually really liked her expressions. It made her otherwise not as great performance entertaining for me. That is one thing I would commend Binny on. That she does engage the audience with her expressions even if her dance technically is not great. But I think Binny was trying to emote with the pe pe pepein song. The song itself is so baby-ish and wierd that you need crazy expressions with it. She wasn't going with the hiphop expressions needed for the dance, but she was feeling the music instead. I can relate because I too probablly would've emoted like Binny did for this song. It's just that weird but somehow catchy pe pe pepein tune I think....:S lol
Punit seriously had NO energy during his performance and no confidence at all. He didn't even have the basic MJ attitude right I felt. I seriously don't get what's so great about this guy. He hasn't given a single performance worth remembering so far.
But yes Remo is putting alot of work on Punit. I did feel bad for Saajan too, you can't help loving this guy he's just TOO adorable! Too bad he got nothing out of DID in terms of dance.
Anyways, loved your post thanks for the info. So alot of the judges' comments weren't that accurate either? lol Interesting.
