I was watching yesterday's episode of CP hoping to see Acp Pradyuman (31 march). The episode was really good. The case was about an attack on a family in which the younger son gets killed and the mother goes in to the coma stage. The way the police investigated the case was simple yet impressive. They didn't have a forensic department but used logic and common sense to reveal the truth. They socialized with the neighbours and compared the statements given by each of the witnesses. I wish CID adopted such techniques. But if a similar case was to be solved by CID, the entire time would be spent in the forensic lab, checking the DNA samples of hair, scanning apples and blaming Salunkhe for not finding enough of of clues. Enough and more of significance is being given to Forensic department. I am not trying to say that Forensic science is unimportant but there were many cases in CID where they shouldn't have depended so much on it and used their own resources.

I can watch CID a thousand times but not Crime Patrol. During its last season I saw a story of a 8 year old orphan boy who was burnt alive for 100 Rs, it was a dramatized version but still it put me into depression, I could not eat properly, sleep properly for many many days. Almost every night it came in my dreams and I would getup unable to sleep for the rest of the night. Since then I never what these true to life stuff, be it on TV or Movies.

I watch TV to relax and enjoy myself and have a nice laugh...
CID does that...crime patrol doesn't. There are no Daya and Abhijeet and there are no funny scenes like today's Taipan saanp which we can discuss and have a good laugh.
We see news about crime all over the newspaper and on news channels...why do you want to see it on an 'Entertainment' channel yaar????

I need to change the title actually. I was just referring to yesterday's episode. The mode of investigation in that episode was really nice. I wished that CID used more of that techniques. I really find it difficult to digest when apples are being scanned and eyes being projected to open the bank locker. Why can't they be a bit more convincing.

. Please don't think even for a moment that I prefer CP to CID, no never!!!!. I just want some modifications to be made in it and the team to be a little more serious.

this does happen abhijeetdaya... eyes are used for lots of security reasons. even in an old cid episode, even in some american shows such techniques are used.

what visrom is saying is not against wat u r saying. visrom is simply saying that crime patrol shows d stark reality in a harsh manner. it is sometimes disturbing. even i hv watched fantastic crime patrol epis. bt they are also dramatised. wat d police actually did s not always shown or is covered up.

an entertainment channel where kiddos often watch show such shows shud b discouraged. there are news channels which can show crime patrol, not sony. sony s for entertaining and escaping from reality.

even i liked cp but i prefer cid because its nt too disturbing....

and no ones s saying u r comparing d two. they r just giving their views...

The stories of Crime Patrol are actually based on truth. they are only about crime and investigation. but we don't watch CID as a crime-thriller only. we love to see the Abhi-Daya friendship, the imotional bonding between the officers, the funny moments. and I m satisfied with the technology of CID, I don't want anything more.

Yaar, CID is a fictionous show.It says so on the disclaimer itself. Sometimes, we need the TV for pure entertainment purposes. That's why we watch CID. Crime Patrol, on the other hand, is based on true life and it is too depressing. Don't we have all that in Aaj Tak and what not already? Wee don't need any more depression in the household with all this Crime Patrol or people will start commiting suicide because of all the depression.

I understand where you are coming from, abhijeetdaya. Back in the early years there was more of a balance between the investigators and the forensic department. But for some years now, they are focusing too much on ridiculous special effects in the forensic lab and useless comedy and not on actual investigation and plot. Clues randomly come and go, often not making much sense either. The forensics have descended to absurd levels.

Anyway, the writing seems to have improved recently so let's see. I am hoping they will try to recapture some of the old charm.
