Well, now that we know Shiv's full name: Shiv Desraj, I was wondering what Mahi's name would be after marriage. (Yeah, I know kinda what she was doing with Ishan's name But oh well, yesterday we saw a new relationship develop between MaHiv... Mahi doesn't realize that, so I thought I should help her 😉)

So, here are the names I came up with:

Mahi Shiv Desraj
Mahi Talwar Desraj
Mahi Desraj

Any others you can think of? Which one's the best?

I personally LOVE Mahi Shiv Desraj 😳😳 But Mahi Talwar Desraj is ideal.

before Mahi can become Mahi Talwar Desraj she needs to come to terms with Mahi Talwar.
Quite ironic isn't it? her last name is Talwar and she isnt even close to being one lol.

That's very true. 👏

And I'm sure that will happen soon and Shiv will help her in that. From the precap, we can see that he is giving her courage to test her limits. He's giving her encouragement that she can do anything and she can become anything at all. And because of him, even Mahi's actually trying this time.

Oh well, I think it's Mrs. Mahi Talwar that's the best.

I can never understand just why the hell do women have to change their surnames after marriage. Once i was feeling mighty pissed off over the sexist notions that exist in our society and decided to look up the reason behind this change of surnames.

After a bit of Googling I discovered that a woman changes her surname to indicate that she "belongs" to her husband now, and not to her father anymore.
What the hell? Why should a woman show that she "belongs" to her husband, why not the other way round? Women also have an identity of their own, why should they change it after marriage?
Isn't the whole damn concept very primitive?
Is that all there is to a woman's life?Either she belongs to her father or to her husband?

In my opinion, a child should take the surname of his mother/father and retain it till his death, irrespective of who he/she marries.

If I were in Mahi's place, My surname would have remained Talwar. And I wouldn't have added "Shiv" to it either. i would have had better ways of showing my love.

I think the best name is Mahi Talwar Desraj....
It suits her and sounds classy....👍🏼
I just hope she realizes in time that she loves Shiv because after seeing Friday's episode,it was a bit obvious that Shiv likes her more than a friend.....😳

i understand your rage and completely agree with it, that's why its really a personal choice. a woman DOES NOT have to change her name if she doesnt want to, simple as that. there's no law that says she HAS to.

You are right, but ultimately it comes down to the woman's choice.

Personally, I don't want to change my name either. But considering that's what Mahi wants (from the Ishan episode) I made this topic. As long as they are not forced, I don't find anything wrong in changing your name if that is your wish.

But thinking about the sexist notions, why should it even by Mrs. Mahi Talwar? Isn't Mrs. sexist too considering there's nothing for Mr. after marriage?
