I realized this after,
- I took a closer look at the past winners and the past great performances that didn't even get nominated. Believe it or not, Shankar Mahadevan doesn't even have 1 Filmfare NOMINATION. (I think)
- Risingabove's contest, made me pay close attention to the singing, and realize, that yes truly, listen to someone sing and most questions are answered by then.
- Mohit Chauhan won filmfare award 😆
And let's be honest, the person who receives the playback singer of the year, didn't actually sing the best in many cases.
.The award goes to the person who sang the best, mixed with how big a hit the song was. Just like the actor of the year is who acted well mixed with how big a hit the film was.
And there is also other factors such as, giving it to someone new rather than the person who already has an award. Hype is also involved. So there are definitely other factors involved besides singing.
With all that said, I still think they give you valuable insight and are still a strong argument outside your opinion of singing. If someone wins a prestigious award, I still will consider them a very good singer. (Maybe not elite anymore). It is still very difficult to do. It is still a goal of many singers. It still brings happiness to all the winners of the award because they desire winning the award. Though it might not make someone elite, it does make them a very good singer.
