Would you continue to be his friend if he doesn't marry you?
I don't want to stay in touch with him if we don't marry. I don't think I can be his friend because once you've graduated to a point where you were going to marry someone and you didn't, it's difficult to go back to being friends.

Several critics feel that the show is a platform for self-promotion.
It's a platform where two people will be united forever. I don't think any of us came with that in mind.

Are you friendly with your co-contestants?
I didn't participate to make friends. I wanted to see if I can get to know Rahul Mahajan and if we are really meant to be together.
Do you feel you'll have a connection?
Yes. He's a nice guy with whom any girl can spend her lifetime.
Didn't your family object to your participation, given that it's on national TV and Mahajan is a divorcee with a pending court case?
My mother was the first one to agree. She liked Rahul when she saw him on Bigg Boss 2. She felt he was a warm guy. When he came home to meet everyone, he left everyone mesmerised. So, I don't think anyone will have a problem with him and me.

Wasn't your family apprehensive?
They had their fears but eventually, they got over it. A lot of people warned them that it's not a great show, Rahul's media reputation wasn't great and I would look like a publicity-hungry girl. But my family believed in me and let me go.

What did they think of Rahul?
My family is quite convinced about him. They feel that there is another side to the man. They are happy if I marry him.

Were you sure you'd reach the finale?
Honestly, I entered the contest to know Rahul better. Our chemistry works.
Anxious?
Of course. Who won't be? After the wedding, my life might go through a 360-degree change. But I am looking forward to March 6.
Do you plan to have a Sikh wedding too?
Yes, I think the channel has arranged for three weddings depending on the brides.
But your chances of marrying him are just 50 per cent?
I know but that can't be helped. If we don't marry, I will be heartbroken but I will move on. Maybe not immediately, but I would like to stay in touch with him and my co-contestants too.

Yes. Rahul can make anyone fall in love with him, even if she thinks she doesn't want to fall for him.
But there's a 13-year age gap between you and him. Won't that work against your relationship?
I don't think or sound like a 21-year-old. My friends are much older than me and I get along very well with them. So far, I've had many interactions with Rahul and I can sense that we'll get along well despite our age difference.
Doesn't your family have a problem with that and, of course, a pending court case against him and his divorcee status?
They had their apprehensions. It was my decision to participate in the show, anyway. My father was the most apprehensive of the lot. But when he met Rahul, he was convinced he is a nice guy. They had a heart-to-heart and now my father has grown fond of Rahul.
Your co-contestants felt you played it smart.
Yeah, I have been watching the show and listening to what they had to say about me behind my back. It's not in good taste but there's little I can do about that.
What if the marriage doesn't happen with you?
I will be heartbroken because, at the moment, I can't imagine life without him. He is such a sweetheart. Of course, life doesn't stop at any point. I will mend my heart and move on but that is asking a lot from me.
Would you still want to be his friend?
I'm not sure. Maybe I would.
