when I first started with dmg, what appealed to me the most was the purity of the show. It was full of fun and child like pranks all the antics were innocent, meant only to tease and make others laugh...the fact that there were no 'plots' and 'villain who were hell bent on ruining some one's life' was what made me want to watch. There were almost NO tears (not counting the tears of laughter...) and it made it a good show to watch after you return home from a long days work and stress. Young love and unbreakable friendships between the most unlikely people...the fact that they were concerned about one another...it was just magical. a very DIFFERENT show.
Then slowly, over the years, they increased the intensity of the show (at a very good pace so that it wasnt tooo boring and neither was it toooo stressful)...The audience loved it! poeple are happy, they have high TRPs and the frigging CVs think "ha! look, they LOVE our ideas! now, whatever we do, they will watch our show, because it ROX!" and then, just like that, they remove the essence of the show(AR). The 2 characters the whole show was revolving around, destroyed. That was like taking the sweetness out of honey, the smell out of a rose. NOT because they were the best or whatever (if u dont like them, its perfectly fine. NO offense. But,i luv em!) but because the CVs were focusing on AR the most!! They were the essence of the story line and suddenly they were removed. Had they NOT been giving soooo much attention to AR, ok, fine i can agree that they kicked them out....but after 2 YEARS of making a story about them...they tell us that they just died...its dumb rite? OKAY...fine, they died? no prob. but they dint stop there. They brought in new characters. to make matters worse...the masti they had was so similar to the one of the old gang...it became nostalgic..i personally found it hard to digest the characters because i kept seeing the old gang...if they were soooooo desperate for new characters, then they should change the stuff they do too!! sid and tamanna..soo similar to AR..and people were dying to see AR....it made it hard to watch...then they decide..LETS BRING IN RIDZ. okay...no prob. they bring her in, kick tamanna out..and there, just like that 2 JODIS ARE DESTROYED. i understand..maybe the actors had their own personal probs..but that doesnt mean they can do as they please... to add to everything..they made dmg a rona dhona kind of show...now i think its easier to just watch a saas bahu quarrel instead of laughing hysterically at dmg like i used to in those days... sacrifice,broken hearts,sadness,cunning minds..these are not the words tht define DMG..but now? these are the ONLY words...it hurts to know that a show that started off sooo brilliantly ended up becoming so sadistic and sickening. the change was too much..which is why i dont like dmg2. it has nothing to do with the actors. its the fact that everything is sooo sombre and that the meethiness and the innocence is gone...
