Poem: Sethi Family

One of my friend who doesn't watch 12/24 Karol Bagh wrote this poem on my insistence.
She wrote this poem just with a brief knowledge of the characters. Enjoy.

Sethi Family

Have you heard of the family called Sethi

Who live in a very intrusive part of Delhi

The people here are very curious

That sometimes makes the Sethis furious.



The head of the house is Rajinder Sethi

Who owns a shop in a market in Delhi

Although strict he does have a heart of gold

And listens to whatever he has been told.



Though he himself doesn't forgive fools

But for his family he can let his temper cool

He is always there for the ones that he care

And is one of them who don't openly declare.



Manju Sethi the lady of the house

Is an expert in holding a grouse

She is the one to whom others bow

For all the wishes that she can endow.



Mrs Sethi thinks that she has to please her friends

When most of the time they act as fiends

Blind in her desire to please others

Doesn't realize that its her family that she bothers



The Sethis have three daughters and a son

And they all live together as if they are one

Simi the eldest has a heart of gold

Although others say that she is too old.



The Sethis have tried to get her married

But the failures have left them harried

People say that she has been left on the shelf too long

And they keep on repeating as if on a song.



The Sethis thought that they could depend on their son

But he mistreated them and used them like a pawn

It doesn't matter to him who he uses

So long he is successful in his ruses.



Neetu the middle sister is one flighty girl

Whose only interest is how many boys she can whirl

Life for her is meant for having fun

And in the process she herself becomes a pun.



The youngest Mili is one very feisty lass

Who never lets any insult pass

She stands up fearlessly for her right

And keeps her adversaries under her sight.



So that was our introduction to the family called Sethi

Who live together in a place called Karol Bagh in Delhi

This story is about each member lives their life

And in the process come out of any strife.

She would have been great asset on the KB forum, but she doesn't watch KB and doesn't intend to because as per her watching one show with sacrificial heroine is more than enough for her!😆

Mishti, Bee, this was so Mishti-esque! She really knows how to put it together in poetry with basic information. It describes the Sethi family of Karol Bagh so aptly. It was a pleasure reading it.
