Hey guys,
I know that there've been some "Is I-F giving out any viruses' posts, and I've recently been getting alerts from my Norton anti-virus program that something on I-F does contain a virus...
It might be those pop ups, but I'm not sure.. here's the emssage I just got 2 minutes ago:
I had to smudge off the bit that had my real name and IP address😛 But yeah, I've been getting alerts like these a lot these past 2 weeks or so...and it only happens when I come on I-F

I get pop ups, mostly when i log into I-F other than that, I don't get them. 😕
But a lot of people have been talking about it and I think it's time the team to look into this carefully.

Hey,

Thanks for reporting the issue. What I would suggest is please provide the URL of the page where it actually popped up so that we can scan the entire page.

Sometimes there are trojans already installed on the computers running secretly which keeps popping up these messages when you are surfing the web so that it would feel like the ad is coming from the internet.

We use only reputable ad networks to monetize the site like Google, TribalFusion, ValueClick and BurstMedia so all the ads coming on the site gets scanned by their quality checking team. I would also like to state that there are sometimes that it skips them or the original ad is changed by a rogue advertiser after approval.

Really appreciate that you took time to report the issue as we also want India-Forums to be a safe place and our team works really hard to ensure the same.

Regards,
Vijay

Popups coming on India-Forums are being served by ValueClick and its safe so do not worry about it. And its frequency is also set low to 1 in 8hrs.

This is one of incident and we are still not sure that what is causing the problem so let us determine the reason and be assured we will be fixing it if its coming through IF.

I'll try to find the URL.. I have the full screen shot I think, if you'd like that, I may be able to provide you with it.
I just spoke to a professional... he told me that this "fake anti-virus" program disables default programs on your computer. Atm, my computer's been affected by it. I had to go onto my msn, go to my inbox, then come here..
Vijay bhaiya, please try to prevent this popup. I have to pay a solid $200 or more to get this fixed, and I won't be coming on I-F until it is

Hi,

As suggested earlier IF is not serving any harmful popups. The popup that you are talking about and the IP address that it is saying in the image screenshot is not our servers IP.

This is why I wanted to know the URL where you always get this alert message.

Vijay

Where is this URL coming on India-Forums.com ? The above mentioned IP is not of any of our servers.

If you can tell me the page on IF where this URL you can see or it popups.

Vijay
