Perfect lalitha 😉 meaning of both words r different. Laks rani and Lalitha both xpressed and xplained it beautifully . Bharat word is basically a sanskrit word which was Bharata ..bha means light and rata means devoted ..so Bharat means Devoted to light . Some people (from music /art world ) xplain its meaning like this Bhav + raag+Taal . But the original meaning of BHARAT is devoted to light. Hindustan / bharat both names dont represent any religion . So its people choice . I dont like India word because im not very fond of Angreziii 😆 but for world its ok .

Thanks Sonu😊; yeah, I too am not too fond of the name India, don't know why, I really like the name Bharatvarsh and even Aryavrat more.😳 I also like Hindustan. But when I talk with my foreigner friends or any other westerner, I use the name India because that's what they know the country as.
But what's in a word, you know? As long as one is loyal to their country, it really doesn't matter what they call it.
By the way, I've always been wondering....is your avi from PRC or Dharamveer? I haven't really watched either show more than a few epis so I was wondering. It's a nice avi.😊

According to law India is either to be called 'India' or 'Bharat'. Term Hindustan shouldint be used. Dravidians were the earliest inhabitants of India. Hindus(Aryans) came later😊 We should break open the narrow shells of regionalism, religion, caste, south India, north india and all such bull_hit! Once upon a time our forefathers happily welcomed refugees.. Be it parsees, muslims, jews whoever.. "Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu" was our moto.. Let us love all.. Love..

"ONE CASTE ONE RELIGION ONE GOD FOR MAN - LOVE" 😊

A rose by any other name will still be a rose. Whatever one may call it, be it Republic of India, India, Bharat, Hindustan.! Post partition the name is 'Republic of India' and this is the way everyone should address the nation as😊

Chances are they probably invaded the country without permission and were not just welcomed with open arms.
However I like what you wrote about 'Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu'😊Happiness and peace for all.

Hindustan is a term which actually refers to hindi speaking areas like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar pradesh because these areas were called Hindustan
It does not refer to hindu religion...but to hindi (including urdu) and its dialects.
Since Hindi was officially appointed as national language, therefore india is sometimes referred as hindustan...It has nothing to do with hindu religion but with hindi language.

The parts comprising present day pakistan were called sapta-sindhu, and sapta sindhu and hindustan although comprised same people (aryans), but they had some ethnic differences. This is what I think..It may be partially right....partially wrong

In short---there were 4 basic divisions of undivided india-
Sapta-sindhu(now in pakistan)
Hindustan
Sino-tibetan region (seven sisters)
Dravidian region

So, hindustan generally isn't apt for india from pre-independence POV, although since hindi is almost spoken in all parts of india today, india can be called hindustan

Bharat is the proper name used by people who have natural connections to our ancestral lands..people who take pride in bearing the name of a great man who expanded our borders beyond south asia, implemented justice and introduced the seeds of democracy.
Hindustan is the name given by the muslim communities...
India is the 'secular' word, which has no meaning in it apart from being a call name by the British from colonial days. Definitely used by the christian communities..

1. Aryan 'migration' is debated.
2. Parsees and jews were welcomed with the promise that they would not carry weapons and dress like other Indians. Not like today... 😆
3. Muslims in south asia are mostly converts, not migrants.
4. People who migrated through the wastelands of central asia/middle east through kyhber pass were looking for gold, power and women... they paid us handsomly with blood and destruction... 😉
5. We've heard this BS a million times before about universal brotherhood. Run for PM and save the country.... 😆
