Agnipariksha final 2
The episode begins with the flashback – the last challenger from jaiho gharana bowing out. Then both the contestants Debu and Vinit sing Jhalak dikhlaa jaa- dancing along with it. Did not quite like the performances……vinit trying hard to dance and sound like HR, debu trying his own thing…..not working too well.
Both the mentors come out after shaan gives an introduction to this final mahayudh. Shaan wishes all of them….the contestant seek blessing from the mentors……
The special guests for tonite are the gen-next composer (Shaan's words- don't kill me!)…Sandesh Shandilya (K3G, chameli), Shantanu Moitra (Parineeta) and Pritam Chakravarty (Dhoom, garam masala). They have got their tracks on cd and the contestants will be asked to sing these songs (they have not prepared as they don't know the songs yet). These composers will be have the mentometer today. And we have another celebrity guest to add the glamour quotient…..Bhoomika chawla. She wishes them best of luck.
The first composer is Sandesh Shandilya- asks a question to both the singers as to what is difference between how they sang before they were on srgmp and after having learned under the mentors. Debojit's reply is that he has learnt about projection of his voice and vinit says that his mentor has taught him to sing in a style, which will suit today's heroes and bring in that attitude required. The songs selected by Sandesh are Suraj hua for vinit and you are my sonia for debojit.
Vinit is the first one to sing the song and his song is the beautiful haunting melody suraj hua Maddham………he does very well…I think it is very difficult to sing songs which are sung by sonu so wonderfully…anyway vinit brings in lot of feelings, sings with emotion….pehla pehla pyaar (I thought HR would jump again and talk about vinit's love but we are spared) sung very well.
Debu sings you are my sonia – begins nicely…puts in lot of attitude required for the song but somehow he lost it somewhere in between…style became repetitive as well….was off key in some places as well. Overall good energy..i think he would have done better if he knew the lyrics properly…he kept on referring to the notebook in front and that took away some energy from the performance. But overall ok.

Bhumika praised both the singers. Sandesh said that suraj hua is his fav song and he had heard only sonu sing it till now……vinit has sung with a lot of soul and he has not considered anything else while giving marks. For debu, he said that he will not talk about the mistakes- everybody makes mistake….but he sung it really well. He said that he had gotten bored of hearing these two songs and had not heard it for a while now…but today when he heard it from them….he liked it again as they sang it in their own way. HR says that vinit has sung wonderful (something new please)…and ID praises his protg.
ID asks sandesh as to which of these two song is his fav and sandesh says it is suraj hua…ID complains that sandesh did a partiality by giving the song to vinit. He said that it is a fantastic song and though vinit has sung well- lot of the credit goes to the song. Sandesh tries to answer ID but HR can't keep quiet, says that if he does not say this now- people tend to forget and that will affect the voting (apne paon pe kulhadi!) He asks sandesh as to which of these songs was more popular- sandesh says it is You are my sonia… HR says that people tend to vote for popular song and so ….. Sandesh does not like this but answers to both….if a song is popular or better- it is harder to carry that song because people are listening to it more carefully.
The next composer is Shantanu Moitra and the two songs he has selected Piyu bole for Debojit and Keshto maza for Vinit.
Debojit is the one who takes the stage first- beautiful song……but I am disappointed…..he just goes through the motion- does not sing with the feeling….sounded weird ..may be feeling difficult to sing the female portion as it is major part. Tried to put in the sweetness, innocence of the song but seemed like an effort…not natural. Somehow I did not quite enjoy his performance.
Vinit sings Kesto maza…..good on the higher notes specially in ye hawain…his strength…puts in lot of feel….i did not like his gungunaye….i think he put in too many harkats in a simple pahadi kind of song. But overall he sang quite well….i think his voice might suit lot of heroes!
The mento meter gave perfect ten for both of them from all the composers.
Bhoomika said that it is really getting tough for them as both are really very good. Debojit's version touched her soul (she was humming when he was singing)
Shantanu said that he was wondering how it will be to hear the parts which have been composed keeping in mind sherya ghosal but he made it his won and sang it very well. For vinit he said that he has to credit the mentors for making their students in their original voice. HR says that I can challenge that all the three composers are thinking of giving vinit a break. ID says that HR should let him also sell his product. HR says that only wo product bikau hain wohi bikega (is he saying debu is not bikau!)……When will HR realize that by doing all this he is harming vinit!
The last composer is Pritam Chakravorty. He chooses the song Resham si from mere yaar ke shaadi hai for vinit as he sings with lot of passion. He chooses the song Halka halka from Chocolate for debojit.
Vinit gets to sing another song which is similar in nature- I actually go bored- as all the three songs given to him were in some way similar- no variety…..i think they should have given him one fast number or something not so romantic! He sings well……puts in lot of feel…feel like he is ending the words abruptly. Did not enjoy it that much.
Debojit sings Halka…they are lot of sound to be made in the song and debu does really well….brings in lot of attitude which is great.
The mentometer reads perfect ten for both. Sandesh wants to give 11 to vinit and bhoomika wants to give him 101!
Pritam says that he will definitely give both of them a break. He was impressed by Debu's attitude and energy in the song. Bhoomika said that she felt like going up on stage and dancing.
Shantanu says that he always wondered as to how it was when the great singers use to sing songs in one take….today he saw how the songs are done in one take.
HR says that he hopes vinit gets the credit he deserves. ID says that he is wondering how to sell his produnt as debu is married he can't even make a love story (where was HR- silent! That's not him).
Shaan says it was amazing that all the songs sung here today had something in common and it was that sonu was the singer and he is the singer of today. Asks the audience to keep voting (does not mention when will this voting end!).
The voting till now are more that 50 lakhs votes received. Vinit has got around 47% votes and debu is leading with around 52%.
HR appealed that debojit ke liye universal voting so that he does not just win by assam votes. Debu gets back at HR by saying that he does not want to get the tanna that he won by northeast votes only so requests people from all over the country to vote for him.
Shaan sings Naam gum jayega on bhoomika's requests- did not like the two lines he sang.
Tomorrow we will have gen next singers- Shaan, sunidhi and shreya as judges.
