i read somewhere that it means "unwanted don't take my word for it though i might be wrong.

well that's what it means unwanted.... but i guess when she turned black that's the time plp might have named her naku.... and then she herself tried to call herself naku....

even i was wondering the same. maybe babi and ganpat have a thing for weird names like nakusha and sethji. btw everyone was emphasizing that supriya is not only beautiful but her name is beautiful too.

another possibility is that as per the preview babi had to leave her in-laws house as she couldnt have sons. so when naku was born her in-laws christened her as nakusha meaning unwanted.

I think this is the reason, or else no parents would name their child Nakusha, that's why they call her Naku as it is sweet.

kshreya2002 is right.....the protagonist was named Nakusha because her father wanted a son but he got a daughter which he never wanted so he named her Nakusha....in the beginning episodes Nakusha herself says this....and asks Babi that she wanted her....rite? even though no one else didn't?....and Ganpat isn't her biological father so he can't be blamed for naming her such a weird name
