Remo choreographd dance on Lord Krishna and Shiva. Ok fine. But what a cheap interpretation of that? As a Hindu I was offended. My 3 year old was shocked to see that. I think somebody should have mentioned it in the episode. I don't think he meant bad, but he has to be careful.

I wasn't at all. I think Dance is Dance. I far from think Remo is trying to use DID to portray his "hate" or "dislike" for a certain God. Or trying to tell he does not believe in it.

It is true that the execution was very very poor. I was so disappointed. I bet if it was a success, we'd all be the ones clapping hands for it. I'd like to add though, even if the lift was successful, I didn't like it that much. Not because of the "offended" part, but because of the concept and choreography in general. I don't like watching Shashank as a performer. I personally think he has absolutely no expressions. The reason for my surprise of Parvez's elimination against his.

Could you elaborate on what you found cheap? Exactly in what sense was the dance offensive to you? What about it seemed to be insulting towards Hindu Gods? Finally why was your three year old shocked - it is not like three year olds to be able to judge morality in things?

Stop being so uptight, folks! It was a brilliant concept. I fail to see what could be so shocking for you! As far as your three years old being shocked --- stop polluting his mind with your BS. That should take care of the tot.

I loved the concept and I loved the way he interpreted it into western classical dances...I don't think it was offending if taken correctly. I guess your three year was shocked seeing Shashank's outfit...

I dont understand why it was offensive?? Just because Remo happened to be a Christian?? Why bring religion into the discussions of such shows, I never get it!!! Remo did a good job, even though the execution was poor and disappointing! I dont think Remo would even have the slightest thought of offending any gods or religions through his acts; none of the masters will even think like that. You should stop speculating with biased thoughts. Maybe I think you are talking about Shashank being made to look like a female but he wasnt able to carry it out well... But how does a 3 year old know the difference between a man dressed as a woman and a real woman?? 😕

I don't think it had anything to do with religion - it was mythology (there is a difference).
In fact in all fairness to Remo, he brought forth a concept of Gopeshwar which was new and unique.

That being said, yes Shashank's costume was not aesthetically appealling and the stunts were apalling - the depth of the meaning could be understood only by adults like us who analyze these dances and write about them in forums.
A 3 year old perhaps would be confused about what they saw and understood, depends on how much of mythology they are exposed to. While upholding cultural values, it is important to understand the difference between culture, religion and tradition without being prejudiced.

Just my take on it, understand every family equation is unique and u've had the chance to talk about it with your child.

@SunBright I have to say, though I have been told stories by my parents at young age...the reason behind Gopeshwar was not known to me till now. So thanks to Remo for bringing it up...
