Celebrities support WAVE

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, Genelia D'Souza, Vidya Balan, Abhay Deol, Minisha Lamba and Harman Baweja willcome forward today to express their intent to raise their voice against violence on women in an initiative titled WAVE (Women Against Violence).

Breakthrough, an NGO working for the rights of women that also supports the harassed and abused, is looking to provide a platform for such women ill-treated in the hands of their partners or families. Apart from those mentioned above, nine others have also pledged their support for WAVE.

Shahid Kapoor says: "It is a crime to raise your hand on a woman. There are organizations across the country working to spread this message, and together, it is our responsibility to spread the word against violence. It is our responsibility to stand up for women against violence."

Priyanka Chopra adds: "Across the country we have NGOs and people who are willing to help those affected by violence and difficulties in their lives. It is our responsibility to make women aware of these facilities and tell them how to use it to fight abuse."

this is really good of them all to do because we have to make women who goes trough all this to understand to do something about it because no one have the right to beat them and today women are strong and can take their own desicions be it in personal or profesional life no one have the right to beat a women...
