New Delhi:
Sania Mirza's family has reportedly called off her engagement to Mohammad Sohrab Mirza.

"We were friends for half a decade, but found ourselves incompatible during our engagement period. I wish Sohrab the best in life," Sania has been quoted as saying in The Economic Times.

Sania was formally engaged to Mohammad in Hyderabad in July 2009.

Sohrab and Sania have been friends for a long time and he is presently studying business management in the United Kingdom.

Sania who is in Melbourne for the Australian Open will go to Kuala Lumpur on Friday to lead India's challenge in the Fed Cup Asia Oceania Group 2 competition.

She has already crashed out of the Australian Open.

good decision! sania shud concentrate on her career. she is a very good player n gr8 prospect for India.

wooow wat a waste .....of time, money...on guy who had a huge crush on her even got arrested during her engagement days cause her went ahead to Hydrabad and proposed her..... bechara bekaar mein hi jail ka chakkar lagana padana...and here she calls of her engagement ......may be she still likes Shaahid 😆

true that will be the next thing up.....Sania is hardly in news for her games....last she was in news was when was to play against Sharapova Aust open 2 -3 years back...........its high time now she has to concentrate over her game ........I was a big fan of her game some years ago ...wish she improves her game ....i dont expect her to win a WTF tounr thought.....atleast some good games ...loosinig in straight sets is so not done...sometimes her score is 6-2'6-1....too bad

no it isnt that she didnt know him, she said they were friends for half a decade, that's five years. when your relationships change the equation between them changes. get what i mean? like friends can be lovers but lovers cant be friends. things that mightve been ok as friends were perhaps no longer acceptable as an engaged couple for them.

If you are really good friends with someone for almost a decade. You do get to know their likes and dislikes more than someone who met couple times(arrange Marriage). I was in complete shock when i got to know she is engaged to this guy. Now i am not😆 Aur haan Pyar dosti hai😆 Now media is going to link her with Shahid and make her some desperate girl
