Sonakshi Sinha replaces Kareena Kapoor

Shatrughan Sinha's daughter is yet to complete filming for debut film and she has already been signed on by Pankaj Kapoor for his directorial debut Mausam opposite son Shahid Kapoor.

"The film was originally written by Mr. Kapoor keeping Kareena and Shahid in mind. When he had begun working on the script, Shahid and Kareena were still very much together. And so it was kind of understood that the two would work in the film together. But then they split up and Mr. Kapoor had to start looking for a new leading lady for his film," says a source from the film's production house.

"The film has been written keeping Shahid in mind. For Pankaj there was no one else but Shahid who could play the lead. And that's why he waited till January to take the film on the floor," adds our source.

Mausam is a complete romantic film. It will be largely shot abroad with some schedules in India.

"Shahid plays a naval officer in the Mausam. He has completely got into the role in terms of the look. And so he is staying away from the cameras till then. It will be shot in UK, Spain, Austria and Italy."

Currently a lot of the pre-production work for Mausam is being done as Sonakshi is busy filming for Dabang opposite Salman Khan. Sonakshi should begin filming with Shahid within a fortnight.

Sonakshi that is. Lovelier than Kareena if I may add. Mausam is really Shahids and his fans most look forward to project from him. I hope everything works out the best for the film.
