I was watching the news channels yesterday( a day before the Republic Day). It was full of terror threats and all the arrangements made by the authorities to avoid any attack. Millions of rupees have gone down the drain for all these arrangements and by doing so we have shown the terrorists how stupid we are. The terrorists do not have to wait for any Republic day or any other occasion. If they want they can strike anytime they want. On the other hand we show a very weak leadership who move around with security guards and bulletproof vehicles. Is this the sort of show we like to see on an auspicious day like the Republic Day. The big parade in Delhi is a good show but to employ 60000 policemen for security purposes is just ridiculous. The inconvenience caused to the nomal public is just unimaginable. Everytime there is an occasion of this sort, a common is just suffering. The world watches the show of the Indian Republic Day............and they can imagine the sort of terror we Indians are suffering from.

I feel really sorry (for and )if I have hurt anyone from the above observation.

Terrorists can strike anytime yes.
They even strike persons who have gone on Haj or are praying in the mosques in Pakistan.

On special occassions they pride themselves in being able to disrupt the events.l

Recently they even attacked and killed some of the members of the Togo football team.

Yes terrorists can strike any day but they would always prefer to strike on particular days which are important for that country. They prefer to strike at places which have symbolic importance for that country. That's why over the years they attacked the Parliament, the American embassy and The Taj or something like the Indian Railways. If it didn't matter they could've as well attacked my home.
There is nothing ridiculous in having stringent security measures in place for an important occasion like Republic Day parade. All the top Indian leaders, bureaucrats, military heads along with dignitaries from foreign nations are present over there. Can you imagine what kind of impact it can have if someone manages to attack such a group?? And any terrorist will actually love to attack such a group which makes all those security measures all the more important.

The main intent of the terrorist is to scare people away from their routine activities

Our way of victory over the terrorist is to go about our day to day activities, go through normal festivities taking extra precautions

Now Republic day festivities are one of the most important festivities of the country, we honor the brave of our country, we honor our good people. We confer Param vir chakra, Vir chakra. Lots of people put in tons and tons of effort to make these festivities possible. Kids all over the nation take pride to qualify for being part of these festivities. Symbolically all the best of our country gather on this day to honor the nation and those people who sacrifice for the nation. These festivities are a 3 day affair ending with a beating retreat on the 29th of Jan

This is the day we give recognition to the numerous soldiers who serve in remote portions of the nation.

For this there is such huge security so they can have their moment. I am glad India continues with this tradition even afer 20 years of terror attacks

I dont understand it. When terrorists succeed then people criticize the security and ask if they were sleeping. However, when security is tight and terrorist attacks are prevented then people ask why security is so tight and why waste money. The irony.

In my view, republic day and republic day celebrations are something to be proud of and we should do our best to remember and celebrate the day as one.

When terrorists will be able to insert total terror in all our hearts...that day they will be successful.

Let us not make them successful. Let us hold each others hands...and move the country forward.

Let us take better care of our children and hold them from going astray ... and have a more transparent law enforcing agency....more transparency ... and more adequate measures being taken against terrorists.

Aur terrorist ke darse Republic Day ko khatta kabhi nahi karna chahiye.
