India used to be one of the best among the field-hockey playing countries. But that era has long gone. Hockey has been sidelined for cricket, especially after the IPL began in India. Lack of funding and publicity was lead to the downfall of hockey. But hockey is actually a more tactical and faster game than cricket, people should realize that.

However, on a negative note, it also shows how desperately Hockey in India lacks a public figure.wasnt it already known?? Indian hockey desperately needs some motivation, promotion...watever way it works the better for them.😊

This is the kind of publicity we need. Although I'm a crazy cricket fan, I would rather watch a hockey game than a cricket match because it's shorter and more exciting. the only time i watched hockey is in chak de india 😆..but yes hockey is definetly more entertaining than cricket...ckt is too boring sometimes and also too long 🥱 Only if actors join in. I can see Aamir scoring a goal and publicizing hockey.......😍
