Today is 24 December - A very special day for some people…. Well, I don't know how many here are fans of Retro songs or Classics (HINDI) but if you are you couldn't miss this Person, I m talking about. He is among the MOST Talented Singers of yester years…
Born on 24 December 1924, the youngest of six sons of Hajji Ali Mohammad at Kotla Sultan Singh (or Kotla Sultanpur), a town near Amritsar in Punjab (British India). His nickname was Pheeko, started singing by imitating chants of a fakir in his village. The Boy was none other than THE GREAT- MOHAMMED RAFI ji Himself.
From those days till today Rafi sahab's Magical Voice has managed to Enchant every single soul with it's Magic and Enigma. Rafi sahab was the Indian playback singer whose career spanned four decades. He sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Kannada, Gujarati and Telugu. He also recorded English and Persian songs. He is primarily remembered, however, for his Hindi songs. He was the leading male singer in the Bollywood music industry from the 1940s to the 1980s and has sung several hits with Amazing singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kishor-Kumar, etc.
