| Actor Brad Pitt has turned down $1 million from a British firm to appear at a German film awards ceremony because he did not like the sponsor. |
| According to ananova.com, the organisers of the Golden Camera Film Awards in Berlin confirmed that a British firm agreed to step in at the last minute after Pitt demanded the charity donation. Pitt told the organisers that the money be given to his fiance Angelina Jolie's foundation for orphan children. But he pulled out at the last minute because he did not like the British sponsor. Spokesperson for Golden Camera, Beate Wedekind, confirmed the story and said: "It is all completely true, but I cannot comment on it any more than that. I cannot say who the sponsor was, as it is confidential." She added that everyone at the event was disappointed that Pitt refused to turn up especially since he had agreed to attend it if the money was agreed upon. Personal spokesperson for Pitt, Cindy Guagenti, said: "Brad Pitt was in Berlin before and after the award ceremony as part of a personal business trip. I do not want to say any more about it." |
