Life hasn't really changed after marriage. I think that's because Natasha and I were and are the best of friends. We respect each other's individuality. We don't have rules that we have to do this and that, simply because we have tied the knot. Still, you must be heading straight home now. Somebody is waiting for you...
Yeah. That's a responsibility you have to be aware of, before you get married. Of course, I have taken responsibility and am sensitive to all those things. What if you get late sometimes? Does Natasha get upset?
That's childishness and neither of us is childish. Natasha is fully aware of
how the film industry functions, and knows that delays are part and parcel of our system. Have you stopped working on Sundays?
Yup. Sundays are fully for Natasha. We go out for lunch, and maybe even dinner. If I have a long weekend, we fly off somewhere together. Does Natasha drop in on your sets - with or without the khaane ka dabba?
(Smiles) Natasha drops in every now and then (not with a khane ka dabba!) She misses me too much. How was your honeymoon?
Exciting and lovely. We did a lot of stuff we love doing. We spent some fabulous moments together. Actually, we indulged in lots of adventure. Would you have loved to stay longer?
(Laughs) All things come to an end, and I had to come back at some point. By now, we have had two honeymoons. Two?
First, Natasha and I went for 22 days to New Zealand; I came back for five days to shoot, and then we went to Africa, for two-and-a-half weeks. Summing it up, our honeymoon lasted more than five weeks. How was the first day of shooting after the shaadi?
I shot for five days after coming back from New Zealand. Yes, I was in a different frame of mind.
But in a few hours, I snapped back to form. We actors have to switch-on and switch-off.
What is the best thing about being married?
Sharing your life with someone you want to share it with. Sharing your life with someone you feel is the best for you. Marriage is a beautiful relationship. Would you recommend shaadi to your friends now?
Marriage should not be for just the heck of it. If one finds the right person, of course, why not? If you've made up your mind on the person you wish to marry, and it's two-way traffic, please go ahead. Next time, you may not come across someone as good. How is Mrs Fardeen Khan settling into a new city and a new home?
Well, I am sure it will take a few months for Natasha to completely settle in. But, she is doing beautifully so far. She is getting to know the people, getting to know the city. She is quite adventurous when it comes to shopping. She goes out on her own, nowadays. She has even begun to identify certain places. |
