Esha: Goregaon's newest resident

Your sister Ahana surprised everybody by doing a commercial. What are her future plans?
You may see her in some more ads because she'll definitely get more offers when this ad (Kent Water Purifier) comes out, but she is clear that she doesn't want to act. She is planning to become a director.

When are you shifting to your Goregaon bungalow?
By February-end, we'll be out of our Juhu bungalow, which will be broken down. We are planning a bigger place, of four or five storeys. It won't be the usual type of building, where other people start coming in; It will be exclusively for us. Mom will take the penthouse; my sister will get the third floor, while I will move into the second. Premnath Builders have been assigned to do the job, and I think it will take at least two years.

Who took this decision?
My mom began to talk about it, but in the end, it was a collective decision. This monsoon was terrible. I don't think our place can stand one more monsoon.

Will you miss Juhu?
Definitely. But I am quite kicked about staying in Goregaon, too. My room in Goregaon has been done very well; it's like my dream room. In the next two or three days, it will be ready. Plus, we have a huge lawn, and it's going to be quite chilled out there.

How did you feel when you were not selected for Dhoom 2?
I did feel a little bad, but it's okay. Dhoom was the turning point in my career, and I thank Aditya Chopra for that. And not being in Dhoom 2 does not mean that's the end of my story with Yash Raj Films.

You didn't call them and have a talk?
No. I am not the type who calls and says 'Please… why?' I guess they want to do it in a slightly different style.

Tell us about your forthcoming films?
I have Pyare Mohan, Ankahee and Honeymoon. Pyare Mohan has been a joyride, but full of emotions. I play Preeti, a wannabe pop-star, who falls in love with Pyare (Fardeen Khan), a blind guy.

Ankahee is special. I am playing Kavya, a complex girl. I have never done anything like that before. I think Vikram has brought out the potential in me which wasn't extracted before. Honeymoon is Meghna Gulzar's film, which dwells on problems faced by a married couple while on their honeymoon.

By the time your Juhu residence is ready, you may be married and staying in a new place?
Yes. Who knows! (laughs)
