STORY OF THE IDOL: Abhijeet's autobiography, is being released in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Mumbai: From obscurity to fame, from being ordinary to becoming an idol, Abhijeet Sawant's journey to fame has been rather dramatic.
The country's first Indian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant, added another feather to his cap as he released his autobiography in Mumbai. The 24-year-old's story of rise to fame was unveiled by the Indian Idol's 'idol' Sonu Nigam.
The book, titled Aapka Abhijeet is being released in English, Hindi and Punjabi. It chronicles Abhijeet's journey to overnight success and popularity.
"I worked hard, won the Indian Idol, and in nine months I have my own book, what can be better than this?", he beams.
Abhijeet, considered an icon for aspiring singers, confesses that his biggest talent will always remain singing.
And in exactly that spirit, he didn't disappoint when he was urged to put his talent to good use at the event.
