@koolsadhu: I agree with you completely!!
Firstly, one shud always avoid taking money from relatives cos it can lead to problems later... and even if one has to, then one shud assess their financial condition, situation in life, provisions for emergency etc.
What you wrote shud really have been Sulochana's attitude... I don't understand why people can't be a bit practical where money matters are concerned. Their main problem was only the fact that Vinod shudn't take money from his in laws.. I frankly speaking don't take it as a big deal.. agreed Rasika is bad.. but Sulochana and her family don't think so do they??? They always treat her with respect. If she can give him expensive gifts and gold so often, then what is the harm in taking a loan, especially when he has promised to give it back.
Plus in laws are like parents.. if Manav buying gold for sulochana or making FD's for SIL is not wrong or embarassing, then why is taking money from inlaws wrong.. frankly I thought Archana shudn't have said, "hum nahi chahte aap dusron ke aage haat failayein.." at least not in front of Rasika...so is Rasika not his own... if it had been Manav in place of Vinod and Sulochana in place of Rasika and had offered to loan him out of trouble, and someone wud have said this thing, Sulochana wud have felt bad for sure.
Tomorrow if Vinod wishes to return the loan, Rasika can accept it after a bit of refusal.. even if she doesn't its not as if she will becum poorer... for her its a drop in an ocean. But tomorrow if vinod wants to give the money back, Archu will not accept it... saying there is nothing called 'loan' btw brother/sister. Ultimately it is she who will be affected..
Tomorrow if sulochana gets a heart attack then from where will they get money in emergency... who will give it- Manjusha??? They already have loans cos of Archu's wedding. Even Vinod wont be able to give money cos he wont have free money as everything is going for the house loan. (Hey, they can use this idea, cant they??? Sulochana gets a heart attack and Manav gives Archu the money-maybe by mortgaging his garage??? This wud go with his character and end up making Sulochana guilty- that she didn't help him when he was he in trouble but he did- that too voluntarily)
Am surprised even Varshu who is practical didn't think about it.

I agree with you!
I think that it was certainly an impractical move, I mean tomorrow, if they're in an ACTUAL EMERGENCY, where will they get the money from? Their one main source of back-up/emergency funding is now gone.
Although I think taking money from any relatives is in general a bad idea, Rasika is like Vinod's mother now. Nikita brought up a great point on this, that a few months later, if and when Archana and Manav are back together, if Sulochana or Manohar offers to help Manav out with something and then Vandu comes along saying, " Dada, hum nahi chahte aap dusron ke aage haat failayein..." I bet that the entire Karanjkar family including Archana would be ridiculously offended.
I would have expected Sulochana to say something to her daughters that was along the lines of your post, Koolsadhu. Vinod himself was capable of saying that he wanted to move to his own flat, so he is also capable of figuring out where to get the funding from. If he chooses to get it from his mother-in-law then that's his choice, he's a 30+ year old man and can make his own decisions.
I guess looking at it from the three sisters' point of view I understand the whole "honor" thing, but they need to stop being so emotional about money in these shows, it doesn't send out a very good message.

Agree wid u ppl.....but I think the gesture was more metaphorical....m not sure ....maybe the sisters wanted to show Vinod that it is bettr to take help frm immediate family than relatives n that even sisters can contribute if the bro needs financial help(Rasika's evil ways r known to all if she was a nice lady they might not hve objected) n c'mon Rasika cld hve given the money without making it so dramatic if she really wanted to help Vinod...she just wanted to humiliate the Karanjkars.....Archu was bang on wen she said their future wld be happy n worthwhile if its build on the foundation of love n bonding rather than money....sounds melodramatic but true or atleast I believe in that.

Vinod seems to be a very gullible man... his decision to move out of the house was totally influenced by Manju who we all know is evil and cunning to the core.
The sisters also know how her mind works in trying to control Vinod. They know that by taking money from RA, Manju & RA will constantly remind him that RA was the one to help him when he needed money and his family was not there. This is a close-knit family and for them relationships are very important. They know how Vinod is being influenced by Manju. So they want to protect their brother for being forever under the thumb of Manju & RA, becoz ultimately that is what Manju is aiming at.
