Couldn't he have been like Hema and remained silent for those parts. Or like Vinit the following day, and just hummed the tune.
By mumbling wrong words to fill in the gaps he ruined the song and disgraced himself. You can't not know such a large portion of the song you are singing at such a point in the contest.
He ruined this song for me 😭
I also didn't like his "O Humdum Suniyo Re" but that's because I think it was done to perfection in the original version.

Debojit was quited bad when he sung this song. He was looking clueless.
His voice cracks when he goes higher but at times he sings very well.

But I am neutral when it comes to Debo.
