veer rightly said that he has covered half the distance and now it is upto ichha to cover the remaining distance to get them united. this much ichha can do for someone who loves her so deeply.
Veer always understood ichcha best. even after the sangeet and that dress fiasco, the next day he totally knew why she had been quiet and had told her to share everything with him coz they were now committed to each other. Ichcha though in love with Veer never expressed it to him in so many words but through her actions until the wedding night when she screwed up his life in order to "save Tappu". Even then he has forgiven her and wants her back with all his heart. His character is good except for his sense of timing but his heart is in the right place.
As for Mai, she does not really care for her sons that much, otherwise why would you choose your Bahu over your son's happiness? And as for Vansh, I think she gave up on him pretty easily choosing to lock him up instead of trying harder to help him. All she cares about is outside show. Even for Taps I don't think there is so much love for her other than her just being a Thakur's daughter.
