Is Abhijeet senior to Daya?

I have always been thinking that Daya and Abhijeet had the same rank. But in a few old episodes I could see Daya addressing Abhijeet as sir. Akhir ye chakkar kya hai boss?

Yes, I think though Abhi Sir entered the CID team 2 years after it started, he is senior to Daya Sir. I remember when he came in he was like the second in command to ACP. We can see in the older Episodes in the absence of ACP, Abhi Sir takes over. However now they are almost equal more because of the number of years they have spent here and have become such close friends that there is no need of SIR between them. In the Episodes of late 90s and early 2000 we see them more as colleagues than friends. Now Daya Sir almost died saving Abhijit Sir, so its a different bond altogether from old times.

I had another thought, I could be wrong but I think their sort of equal status now (both of them called Senior Inspectors) could also be due to the fact that Daya Sir became so popular with the Audience. ACP and Abhi Sir were already established actors, people had seen their work, recognised them. They had to start on a higher level. However Daya Sir was a new face, not seen otherwise but became such a popular and loved character, it added to the character's stature, so they had to raise his level to only be second to ACP.

Still...I have observed that when ACP is not around, it is always Abhijeet who gives orders. Then I have seen in some episodes where tasks like digging etc are to be done...Abhijeet doesn't normally do it when Daya, Fredricks and Vivek are around. He just stands aside and watches.

Yes I agree, thats why I said they are sort of on the same level. Even in the Episode when BP Singh Saab came as DIG he offered the post of next ACP to Abhijit not Daya. Daya was offered rewards but not the next position. However now Daya Sir hold his own than before. As far as Abhijit not doing physical work like breaking doors, hitting criminals, digging, etc has always been the case.

yes abhijeet was senior to daya but after some 3 to 4 episodes daya was appointed as senior officer so both were on same position .and now they are in same position

Yeah n thats wat makes me hate Abhijeet. but wen Abhijeet n Daya r together then i love both of them 😃 ohh behen'ly love 😆

yeah so anytime there's a hard job to do like dig or smtn else i tell my mother k "see. everytime ACP sir asks n tells Abhijeet even if Daya is around but if it is some hard work,then Abhijeet can't even bend a bone" n i get really pissed off. n start to hate Abhijeet. pls creatives, pls give equal importance to Abhijeet n Daya. i even dont like it wen Daya is told smtn wen Abhijeet is there, "but that HARDLY happens" 😆


n i alwayz complain to my maa that Abhijeet joined 2 yrs later bt still the creatives hav made him a senior. bt i dont like Daya to b sr. to Abhijeet or vice versa. both are equal
