Aishwarya Rai has been closely associated with Cannes film festival. She has been there as a jury member. Her film Devdas was screened at another Cannes film festival four years ago. It is now that another film starring Aishwarya Rai will be screened there. Provoked is a film is a real life story of a battered housewife Jasmeet Ahluwalia.
The film also stars Naveen Andrews. The film is produced by Dr. J Murli Manohar. It will be independently distributed by an American company – Lee Daniel's Entertainment. The film, about a woman's struggle for dignity, has been directed by Jagmohan Mundra.
Another film of Dr. Manohar that will be screened at Cannes is Infinite Justice, based on the assassination of reporter Daniel Pearl. And after the festival in May, he will launch Lady Godiva with Charlie Chaplin's grand daughter Kiera Chaplin in the lead. The film will be directed by Baz Taylor.
At home, the producer will make a Kannada film. This will be a remake of his hit Tamil film Jodi. This is the first time he is making a film in Kannada. He will use AR Rahman's music from the film Doli Sajake Rakhna whose rights lie with him.
