What is behind this thundu pottu thandi sathiyam? I have never heard the expression before (along with several others, I guess) or else this is a fairly recent expression.

Neither do I know the sanctity / importance of such a promise . if u had
seen that famous murungai kai movie ( forgot the name of the movie!!)
Oorvashi does a TJP and Bhagyaraj marries her - guess it is one of those

that movie is Mundhanai mudichu.. In that movie Ooravsai kuzhandaya thanduva ..
