Friends.. welcome to today's Adda Annex and your daily dose of plots, thoughts, and shots on your favorite show: Pyar ka Bandhan. [For a proper update on today's episode, check out Nadz_J's official written update. 👏]
[Jo will be back from her trip to Germany in another week - o until then you get to spend some time with 'de rest of us'. And today it's my turn. BTW, I haven't been keeping up with the pulse on the street ..err ..forum so you my views may be a bit off. Let's see. On to the episode...]
Araina descend from her throne in the hither bedrooms and everyone is thrilled that she can walk those 10 steps to the dining table again. But then, the table is full of talk about Prateeksha which concerns Mr Rai. [wait.. lemme see.. she just gave blood to the spoilt brat, right? maybe THAT'S why??.. Uff!] He wonders how to remove the threat of Prateeksha from his family and decides that she wil simply have to leave her job. He picks up the phone and plots something [in mute, of course, BT-ishtyle] with some random goonda stud types.
Meanwhile, Prateeksha & Prashanth drop bua off at the bus station where bua tells Prashanth to take good care of Prateeksha. The mystery goonda watches from the shadows. [dun-da-naaaa]. Prashanth is leaving for somewhere via plane. [Do we even care where? Naaaaaah.] He feels bad about it but has no choice. Again, the random goonda looks on from behind at Prateeksha all alone [I wish she used 'Kajol' instead ..its shorter to type.. argh!]
Flash to Daddy Rai getting emotional about hurting Araina.. er.. hitting her with his car.. while Araina tells her dad she feels bad about not saying bye to Prateeksha, and that she feels a connection of sorts to her. Daddy Rai gets incensed by this harmless comments and calls his man up to 'get the job done right now'! [Is the dad overprotective, insecure, or just a bufoon? You decide.]
Back at Prateeksha's [uff..even the name 'Arohi' had fewer letters. oh bhaiyaa..what agony!!] place, there is a knock on the door. Three people - man, woman, son - show up claiming they are the house owner's (bua's) relatives - and they are to stay there now. They accuse Prateeksha of all kinds of [ridiculous] deception and kick her out of her own paid for room. [Really? Do you really think that would happen? And she leaves also? Khushi-khushi? No nosey neighbours come out to help? Whatever.] Flash back to Mr. Rai saying to finish the job but be careful - she a girl.. nothing wrong should happen to her.
Prateeksha is out alone on the streets with her stuff. [the streets of Delhi? a lone girl?? dangerous!!] She doesnt get a place in a women's hostel. She hasn't enough money for hotel. [But the random goonda is still watching over her.] She is sitting on a roadside when an Old Age Home van stops and the workers agree to give her shelter in exhange for her working there. But then, she must leave her other job immediately. She agrees reluctantly. She mentally apologizes to her bosses for dumping them. [But doesnt think to call them.. like, for a place in the company guest house? thats what they are for, afterall.] [i found this to be one silly setup. benign. but silly.]
En route to the old age home, Shashank sees her in the van, [aside: there are only 3 residents in all of delhi.. Prateeksha, Shashank, and Prashanth.. so they keep colliding with each other] and she tells him everything. And Shashank rescues her from the whole silly situation. He grabs her bags and argues with her in the middle of the road. "Why couldn't you have called me? I'm not that utterly useless, you know." And, after much protest, takes her home. Meanwhile Daddy Rai is feeling bad that he has done a bad thing but he needs to get Prateeksha out of their lives [Why? So he can 'own' Araina??]
Shashank arrives back home, and everyone comes running out exclaiming 'you are home! you are home!' [weird. what was that about? did he go somewhere?] and they see Pratigyaa with him and get confused. After Shashank explains everything, his father is happy that he took such a responsible decision and welcome Prateeksha into their home [and yet another guest room].
Finally, Shashank shows Prateeksha to her [guest] room, and as he is leaving, she says 'Thank you. Perhaps I was wrong. You are not irresponsible [gair-zimedaar]. You are a good person.' Shashank is sooo happy that he doesn't know how to react. He says goodnight and closes the door. Then he opens the door and says, you'll want to sleep, let turn the lights out for you, and then he closes the door again. And finally he opens the door a third time and says 'good night' and then closes the door one last time, smiling. After he leaves, Prateeksha is also smiling sweetly, while KKHH music strums in the background. Freeze frame.
Episode ends on Shashank-Prateeksha cuteness. And then CID starts...

Thoughts.
1. When will Mahesh Shetty (the eldest brother) enter the show?? And when will Aziz get an actual role - you know, one that isn't a post-colonial slave without personality?? For a show about 4 interweaving storylines, this one is pretty slow. [Or is it just me?] And NO, Spineless Wonder (i.e. Prashanth) doesn't count as a male lead. [He is just the foil beside which Shashank looks like Superman.]
2. You know, a tried, tested, true method getting rid of unwanted employees is to promote them away. Wouldn't it be far more effective to give Prateeksha a job that she just cant refuse? Out of town. At another company. Paying alot more money??
3. I think Kritika is looking nicer by the minute. I wish she had received the same attention in wardrobing for her last show, but then, that was just a royal disaster near the end. This girl, Prateeksha, dresses like someone I would know, and even as I would like to dress at times. Well done.
4. Minimal Araina time today.. yippee!!!
5. Araina's father is a bigger buffoon than his daughter. That IS an accomplishment. LOL!
That's about it folks.
Tulika.
