Madan Singh: Unlikely hero?

After watching conflict between Gehna & Maasa, then Gehna leaving the place, i just couldn't stop myself admiring Madan Singh's character. As he is also a rich landlord with conservative values having high status in society just like Maasa, but as a family person he is way ahead of Maasa. Everyone in his family( his wife radha & son shyam) raises his or her opinions against him and most of the time they get better of him and have decisions in their favour. Like he accepeted a widowed girl like suguna, who is carrying another man's baby, as his DIL just b'coz of his love for his wife & son. Whatever complaints he has with suguna, he never directed his anger towards her. It's his "nalayak chhora"( i just love the MS- Shyam scenes) who faces the wrath, but never his beendni. Even though he is unable to accept suguna's child, but he is not ready to get him killed also. Even in case of Asha, he seems to be much more sympathatic and tolerant than either Tausa or Maasa.

Very true, actually Madan Singh is a very good human being. I have never got irritated with his character, as he only shows an orthorox attitude that he is used to living in such a society, but he never takes any decision or ill treats people because of EGO, which is what Maasa always does. There is nothing wrong in having an orthodox attitude and taking decisions accordingly, but if you are only taking decisions to satisfy your EGO, without caring for the feelings of anybody, that is wrong. And this is wat Maasa has always done to her beendhnis, be it Anandi or Gehna, her decisions were only based on her personal Ego, and not on what is right or wrong or what is acceptable in the society!

Agree diatoms.. he is a man with some values unlike massa.. she just hold on to her stupid reasonings.. he is so broad minded that he doesnt have any hatred for Sugna.. but is just not able to accept her baby..so sweet of him... love him...😳
