"Chalk and Cheese"
This is my second FF. Few random things were running in my head for quite sometime so decided to write a new FF on it. Hope you guys enjoy reading.
Character sketches :
Ela Gujral : The owner of "Gujral Enterprises" who has been successfully running the company from where her Late Husband Mr.Gujral left it. Gujral Enterprise is one amongst the top 5 Enterprises of India, located in Mumbai maintaining its position for 2 decades successfully. She is a very professional and dynamic in making decisions ,never been wrong till date .Her judgment is always right on any person on their first meet itself ,her experience in life has made her a tough woman.
She has 2 daughter's 'Damini and Roshini .Ela is a dotted mother ,always make sure her daughter are secure ,nothing can escape from her eyes, no strangers allowed anywhere near her daughters. She is very soft, emotional and friendly only to her daughters .She makes sure her daughters gets the best in their life. On weekend, she enjoys old hindi music, reads and listens Urdu as its been her hobby/past time since childhood coz of her friend Nazia , who died young coz of some disease. She also loves reading Rabindranath Tagore's book(Bengali translated to English) as she did her graduation in West Bengal.
Damini Gujral: Eldest daughter of Ela .She has lived/been living the life of any Industrialist children are brought up in India. She has shifted to India since her mother is not keeping wel. She had to complete her Management studies from India to take care of Gujral Enterprise later. She loves animals a lot , too attached to her pet dog named "Bruno" (black Labrador) and has a close friend in India ' " Shashwathi"(Shash), who belongs to middle class family working as an RJ. She is very beautiful with expressive face and eyes, graceful, ,language wel spoken , does not speak much until she wants to talk or if she is comfortable with the person, likes to travel, keeps distance from rest of the world, loves to be alone in her own fantasy/beautiful world, very moody and gets easily bored doing same things for long time, always keeps experimenting different things in life. She has good taste and brings class in everything she does .She does not gets easily irritated but once her cool is lost , the things around or the opposite person will have to bear her wrath.
Roshini Gujral: Youngest daughter of Ela. Doing 2nd yr in NIFT, is still a little kid in Gujral family. She is always concerned about her looks, skin, diet. She has good knowledge on trends, fashion, cosmetics, bollywood etc. She has a friend by name "Goldie", both are always occupied in their crazy world.
Balraj Saxsena: Managing Director of State Bank Of India. He has been transferred to Mumbai after working in Manali for long period. For first time, he has accepted transfer only to see his son's to get settled in big city life with right kind of jobs. He has 2 son's -Prithvi and Varun. His eldest son does not listen to his words .
Prithvi Saxsena: Eldest son of balraj is close to his father .His father has been his mother since Suman passed away when Pri was too young. Pri respects his father a lot but wants to lead his life on his own terms and conditions only. He is not very serious about life , believes in freedom and wants to enjoy his life. He is handsome, friendly, simple, untidy, known for his sarcasms, talks too much , does not allow any girls around him, dislikes rich people. He has post graduation in MBA - marketing and sales and has one year of work experience . He is not happy shifting to Mumbai.
Varun Saxsena: Youngest son of Saxsena's .Doing his 3rd year of Engineering has finally got admission in one of the Engineering college in Mumbai due to his fathers transfer .He is very obedient ,understands computer's Binary language of 0's and 1's.he speaks more to computer and interacts less with human beings. More or less, he is a breathing robot.
Bunty: Country/stray dog which shifts to Mumbai along with Saxsena's.
************Prologue**********
(At 6 a.m)
Saxsena's at Manali are loading their packed luggage on a mini-lorry, with the help of few neighbors and driver helping them .Balraj's eldest son ' Pri is sipping cutting chai (tea ) at the opposite tea stall ,wearing a jeans pant unwashed since 3 months and a white cotton shirt, sleeves rolled up on arms ,uncombed hairs , a bata Hawaii slippers only to irritate his father to give up transfer. Pri did not come to help his father in loading the luggage . Bunty is sitting and waiting for Pri's attention expecting him to feed biscuits (cookies) as he usually does while sipping his tea.
Balraj gets irritated seeing his son and walks upto him , in an irritated tone informs Pri that "He is not gonna change his decision and its final, they are moving to Mumbai. Now without wasting any sec ,just go and get your luggage along." Pri just glares at his father and turns to the shop keeper, pays all his due balance he had and takes 2 biscuits from one of the bottle kept at front and feeds Bunty as he does everyday. Bunty wagging its tail ,all tempted to eat starts to jump a little restless until Pri feeds the biscuits .
Both balraj and Pri walks off together. Balraj continues to load rest of the luggage outside.Pri walks to his room and gets his luggage giving one last look at each and every corner of his room. Pri loads his luggage on a lorry with an expressionless face.
(At gujrals, 8 a.m )
Roshini wishes bye to her mom , sister Damz and Burno leaving to college along with her best friend Goldie who accompanies her everyday after having breakfast. Ela and damz wish her bye and Burno wishes back saying a soft "boooow" lifting its head up from its bowl at the breakfast table.
Ela continues to have her breakfast , reading newspaper through her eye glasses .damz informs her mom , its Shashwathi's b-day tomorrow and I have planned to visit goa ,her favorite place to celebrate her b-day .With your permission ,I would love to leave for goa for a day and return back home before 12 mid-night , I promise. I also have a good news mom, my results have come ,I have graduated in Management studies successfully in distinction. I would join Gujral Enterprise from next week or by this weekend to which ela says " I got to know your results last night itself Mr.Joshi , your Principal gave me a call and informed me about it. I am proud of you. Enjoy yourself , convey my wishes to Shahswathi. Be careful ,call me for any kind of help you need, reach home on time. I will have air tickets booked and money deposited in your account , let me give call to Poonam(Ela's secretary)." Damini thanks her mom giving a bear hug and takes Bruno along with her to her room and she goes to shop for Shash after sometime.
(At 8 p.m)
Damini returns from shopping to be welcomed by Bruno wagging its tail ,jumping at her .Damini hands her things to the servant and bends down to give a bare hug to Bruno. Both damini and Bruno starts their conversation on the day happenings and gives a new ball to play for Bruno which she shopped for him specially.She also plans to skip her dinner and decides to stroll on thread mill to burn the extra calories she had this afternoon during her shopping and walks her way to her room.
( At 10 p.m)
Saxsena's reach their new residence in Mumbai .(which is opposite to Gujral Mansion). Saxsena's unloads their luggage and gets into their new wel furnished Duplex house in Mumbai sub-urbs . Father and his son's along with Bunty gets into the house carrying food packets/parcel trying to get settled in their new house.
Father and sons looks at furniture, curtains, doors , kitchen ,hall, each and every corner of the house and are satisfied with their new house. They all climb up the stairs to decide which room to take .Balraj decides to shift to master bed room(being eldest member of the house), Pri gets inside the other room, he looks at the ceiling, cot, checks the bath room, goes to open the windows and sees from far distance ,a female inside a dimly lit room in opposite house listening to music ,breeze blowing her hair gently around her face(covered) as she continues to walk on thread-mill and a dog lying on a bed watching her. Seeing this , Pri talks to himself arching his eyebrow " Now I know why new law has been made legal in India." He turns around to find bunty barking at him. Pri immediately , sho off Bunty and says to get out from here ,stay out ,away from him feeling uncomfortable suddenly .Pri talking to himself, "I am not going to be part of this new law." He tries to close the door, varun barges inside to say Pri to have a look of next room if he is not happy with this one. Pri states Varun ," I am comfortable here and will take this room " grabs a food packet from varun hand and wishes him Good night!!
Pri goes back to close the window, only to see light turned off this time where he saw a female and dog couple of mins back . Pri talks to himself "No wonder people call mumbai a fast city." nodding his head in denial ,he closes the window holding and munching sandwich along and hits his bed to catch some sleep after traveling for long hours.

P.S: Ignore my mistakes, feed back are always welcomed . I have tried my best to keep it as short as possible coz long FF's are boring and people often dislike to read, I guess(but I enjoy reading long FF's ). I have not decided on any moral for this FF but I have an epilogue which kind off gives a meaning to this FF at the end. Chapter 1 is kept ready ,which will be posted next week.
