This is one of my earliest poems written nearly a decade ago. It is dedicated to Sanraj! Oops someone just asked me how could i have made the dedication ten years ago? To clarify, i wrote it ten years ago and dedicated it today😆! The deed is done!

(sorry if it does sound a bit cliche now! i have moved on to more profound things lately😉)

Make a wish, say a prayer

To a special relationship

No older than a heartbeat,

No fresher than a dewdrop;

Make a wish, whisper an incantation

To conjure deeds from dreams

For muted whispers into the night,

For melding of yearning hearts;

Make a wish, write a dedication

To a bonding of kindred spirits

From friends to lovers,

From yesterday to tomorrow;

Make a wish, make a promise

To a fruitful future

For souls that belong together

For minds that dare to dream!

Make a wish, string a melody.

I am no expert at poetry, but I feel its quite a lovely piece....👏👏

I remember having written this so long ago. But it was at a time when i needed all the assurance and was apprehensive about "happily ever after".

As they say "daane daane peh likha hai khane waale ka naam", I kept it in my collection and never let it out. I suppose it was meant for the Gopikas and Sanraj. 😊
