Down in Goa to participate in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2009 for his movie, Red Alert- The War Within, Shetty could not stop reminiscing about JP Dutta's Border.
"I remember, one day some six tanks were moving in and we could see the clouds of dust. It was real scary. I told Sunny (Sunny Deol) how do these people really fight from here," he said.
The robust Shetty had played a role of Captain Bhairav Singh in the film, Border (1997), said that it is one among the best roles he has ever played in the film industry.
Similarly, for Red Alert Suniel plays a role of Narsimha, a farmer who gets trapped in naxalite movement. "For the first day of the shooting, I was scared and nervous looking at all the well experienced actors around me."
"But actors around me enhanced my character," he added. The Anant Mahadevan directed film has Naseeruddin Shah, Sameera Reddy, Seema Biswas, Vinod Khanna and Bhagyashree in it.
Shetty said that even if a single naxal lays down his arm after watching the movie then it would be a big achievement for the movie. "The effort is to make them think," he added.
