Let's modify that:
I think each time you express a thought, an idea or a belief, you are making a statement about yourself. I also feel people who believe in themselves don't need to make good impressions, because innerly, that's what they always are. Having caught 2-3 random episodes from so many reality shows, I just happened to realize that you can hide your personality, but for how long will you indulge into that? The more you try to make a good impression, the earlier you get fed up of that fake image and will end up disappointing the people around you.
I think I prefer Spontaneity most of the time. Doing what I would do, even if sometimes it may not be the right thing, at least everyone likes me because am the "real" me!
Talking about the virtual world, totally agree with Midnight, I think whatever the reason you post, blog or write on the net otherwise, there still are people behind these IDs, still personalities and characters that are doing the task, so one day or another, you obviously end up knowing how the person is!
One of my teachers loves saying this: "The way you hold your pen tells me so much about you, I don't even need you to write anything!"
