Dulha Mil Gaya is also the first Bollywood film to be shot extensively in the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Director Mudassar Aziz says, "The experience of shooting there was unbelievable and the film highlights that aspect in its storytelling." Dulha Mil Gaya has seen its share of setbacks, one being SRK feeling that he was taken for granted with his cameo appearance being stretched for more than 15-20 days of shooting.
A source close to the actor adds, "Shah Rukh was told that his part in the film would need just 8-9 days of shooting. He soon realized it was more than just a cameo he was shooting for. Viveck knew that the crowd puller is Shah Rukh and Shah Rukh alone, and that being the reason, he extended his role to several other sequences. What upset SRK is that this wasn't told to him earlier; however; considering they've been friends for a while now, he let it go."
When Viveck was quizzed on this matter he said, "When there are certain matters that delay a film; they are bound to give rise to such baseless rumours. I have not taken any advantage of my friendship with SRK; and you can tell when you see the film that he has an important role in the film. However, he is not the prime focus. Yes, there will be people suggesting otherwise, as he is the most bankable star in the film. I just hope the film gets a tremendous opening like all SRK films."
The film, which was slated to release this year, was held back due to the strike and will now release early next year on January 8th, 2010.
