Okay...on a serious note, As a fan of Pallavi, i strongly feel cheated wen i see Basera....firstly wen i saw the promos of Basera, i was like 'Gud,this girl(Pallu)means versatility and she would do more than 100% justice to a script which was tainted to be on similar terms of Baghban'...however i feel cheated now...the promos luked promising which gave the viewers the impression tat Ram n Pallavi were the lead n its a story of their life journey which includes their family and friends,their highs and lows(wasn't Baghban's story like tat)...but alas!!! Basera is anything but this...for this i strongly blame the production house and the scriptwriters for not executing wat was promised to its viewers.... understood! i think all of us pallavi fans would love to see more of her on screen... but the story is still about keshu and ketki... true, the focus is more on their son.. but eventually, the story will take a turn about and it will end at keshu and ketki.. there is only so much they can show us within a span of 30 minutes.. and we have all agreed that the pace of the show is somewhat slow.. if they rushed this track, id be left thinking "and what the heck just happened".. i dont really have many complaints about the track.. but i guess we also have to remember that there are a TON of other actors in this show.. just like we are pallavi fans, there are ram fans, priya bhatija fans, amit jain fans, faizal khan, tarun madhan, yash dasgupta fans.. and phew *wipes forehead*...so many more actors.. so i think it wouldnt be fair to just expect pallavi to be on screen.. and i dont think the creatives have misled us.. in the promos that aired before the show started, nandini, ketki, keshu, waqar and atish were usually in them.. and nandini always said keshu and ketki's kids wouldnt do what other kids did to their parents.. and for that track to start in the show, we had to get a background.. and we go that through madhan kaka.. without a base, the track would be pointless.
Firstly, i refuse to accept Pallavi standing as a showpiece in majority of the episodes...sorry...Pallavi is a talenthouse, utilise it, just don't make her stand there n flash her 440 watt smile, give her dialogues where she can do what she's best at- Acting!!!! --- this we agree with, pallavi hasnt been getting much dialogue! although i understand that we cant just have pallavi on screen all the time, i would like that whenever she IS on screen, she gets more dialogue! more flesh to it!
Why is the director concentratin more on people who just can't act or even give a simple expression...they have got Ram n Pallavi...y aren't they given major chunk of the role? i agree Basera is also a story connecting 4 friends life as well, but they have wasted almost a month introducing the characters and in tat process viewers interest in the show has gone for a toss...don't mind...but KAA was the story of Shiv-Gauri / Sauri, however other characters like Ipshita,Anupam, Nikhila,Mahen,Gopal, Kamya,Mrs DAsgupta, Nisha,Vivan,Dhruv,Gayatri, Asstha,Dada,Dadi,Ayush,Maya,Kaya,Alok babu n Masima n many more were given equal prominance n footage, but the focus was on Shiv-Gauri/ Sauri....but in Basera the focus is on everyone but Ram n Pallavi....atleast Ram is given some dialogues or screen footage with his friends...but Pallavi? it just hurts to see her talent go waste...n it hurts bad....disagree with ur first point! hehe! i dont think the actors on the show cant act.. yeah, some of them are rusty.. but with polishing, they have a great chance.. so far, faizaan is the only character that needs a little brush up.. and mehul..but they hardly show thm on screen.. ketan does quite a good job.. but he's new.. we cant expect them to know how to pull the right strings already! and phew! acting is a HARD job! and yes, the show is about four friends.... and we needed the character introductions..if we didnt have them now, and we had them somewhere in the middle of the track, we'd begin to think that they are adding characters because they are running out of a track..plus, the story is about four families.. each family has their own branch! *giggle*... who knows what role each character is going to play..
Even costumes...i am dissappointed!!!! it just doesn't suit her style...make up too loud and jewellery a total no!!! Ya, i understand shes playing a rich Gujrati businessman's wife, however wasn't Ketki introduced as a simple and loving woman for whom her family is her world...i mean i wud have preferred if they wud have given her a simple getup, b'coz thats wen she luks the most beautiful..."MY OPINION" yup yup, i would prefer for them to tone down the make up a bit too. we all loved her for her simplicty.. and i like her better when she's simple... in her nightgown.. or even in fridays episode at nandini's shaadi! she looked GORGEUOS in that saree.. the color was perfect,the make up was just right :-D but i also remember reading that ketki dressed up for her husband.. i know that the creatives didnt specifically mention it in the show.. but they did say that before keshu comes home, she dresses up for him.. and thats okay.. but i do think that they can tone it down a notch with the make up and jewelery.. especially since we have such heavy saress, the jewels can come off a bit :-D
I don't know but the frustration quotient in me just starts boiling wen i see Pallu's talent getting wasted in Basera...i know now thye have atleast initated to focus on the main topic of the show, but i just hope its not too late...i also know tat Baghban was a 3 hour movie so they didn't have to stretch and Basera is a daily so they have to stretch...but they have gone overboard,stretched it worst than a chewing gum...no no!!! its not too late! i think NDTV is rushing it too much.. i mean, they have to give the show some time.. they cant expect them to just rush in and show ketan being the cause for his parents ruin.. there has to be a backgroud.. and about stretching.. well, they havent really stretched it.. its only because there are so many characters..
My only concern is tat in today trps driven crazy tv industry, anything is possible....if a really gud show like KMH can shut shop just b'coz a few epis trps were down, then....anyways...i just wish and pray that things work fine for the show,specially with Agle janam n Yeh rishta kya...competition is also high and i really want to see Pallavi in action and not as a showpiece... i dunno the makers of the show needs to pull up their socks big time!!!!! i hope the show picks up speed too.. but i dont understand why yeh rishta is such a competition..i mean, the extent to which they stretch the tracks in that show is OUTRAGEOUS! ive given up on that show.. there is nothing new about it.. a couple falling in love after marriage..not new.. rajan sahi just chose to do a whole soap on it.. so its a big deal now.. nothing against the show, but considering the amount of stretching they do on that show, basera is in good shape!
