I started off as a novelty on Indian TV, but soon Nach Baliye had the whole nation dancing to its tune. Now, powered by the success of this celebrity reality show, Star Plus is on its way to unveiling its second – Jodi Kamaal Ki.

Producer Dheeraj Kumar says, "This will be a show spiced with emotions, drama, songs and a lot of fun."

Twenty-seven couples, popular in their respective fields, will participate on the new game show. The game requires each couple to show how well its partners know each other, and the couple that knows the most, wins. The celebrity list calls on former cricketers, senior actors, music video models, directors, and even a finalist from The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

Nach Baliye finalists Manish Goyal and Poonam Narula, along with couples Varun Badola and Rajeshwari Sachdev, and Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi will be the first participants on the show. "The show is about getting to know your partner," explains Manish Goyal. "Interestingly, the technical team for the show is the same one that we had for Nach Baliye. This game show makes me feel like I am on Nach Baliye again, except for the fact that there is no dancing here, thank God!"

Singer Shaan's wife Radhika says, "The show will have segments that will put us in a certain situation and we will have to answer questions about each other, within that situation. It will let us know how compatible we are with each other."

We wonder why Nach Baliye winners Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar are not part of this show! It could be because they're already rehearsing for season two of the dance contest.
