rajsri - I totally agree with you. If Vishaka had entered Dev's life with the intension of becoming a proper wife then I agree Dev has really deprived her. She herself wasn't in a position to accept CB position. All her actions were fueled by only one thing, money! Even now Vishaka is not shown to admit she had done it because she wanted money.
I don't agree with the statement from Vishaka that Dev did not give her the due rights of a wife. In fact Dev did promised Vishaka of all the wife's right and CB rights. Vishaka rejected those offers again and again. But when she was ready, Dev wasn't.

devradhika4ever....... I am sorry about my factual mistake.........it was Mrinalini who had tricked Purab in coming to the sanctum of the household...........very true . I edited my post accordingly .....as even while typing , i had realised that it was somewhat dicey .
However I wud still not embark on a Vishakha glorification spree ..........she is no saint .
Like rightchoice said...........Dev was more upfront about his role in the marraige and admission that he didnt love her . I feel that at that point if she had confided in him , he would have given her the money to embark on her film career , gotten his divorce and explained to Shastriji............Dev does have that kind of broadmindedness in his character as a RAjpurohit too . He is exceedingly fair . Besides.....he wud have done this for Radhika........Vishakha being Radhika's sister was enough for him and he didnt hate her . Educated in the US , unlike the Shastris narrow minded viewpoint of Vishakha's film career choice , Dev wud have understood .
Also i dont find Vishakha evil. She isn't . Mrinalini , Susheel r the type who r amused by people's sufferings. Vishakha isnt consciously like that........she just puts herself first , bas.
I liked it when she said to Radhika who is Dev to punish me........when Shastri had given Dev blanket permission to ' punish Vishakha for her misdeeds ' as he was her husband . She had added' In fact I will only punish him.........just who the hell is he to punish me' ............and I thought ........what a plucky gal , thats the spirit ! Feminists wud be proud of Vishakha . She tolerated no male dominance..........be it her dad Shastri or husband Dev . She is her own person...........her entire struggle was for coming in her own right .
In my opinion..........Vishakha is a character who has two inherited qualities strangely combined in her ......her grandma Amma's streak of selfishness and her father Shastri's fearlessness and ability to face truth squarely if need arises . I rather like the combo . It is interesting .

Koolsadhu, i agree with almost every thing you said except that Vish did tell Dev about her intentions of being an actress not once but a few times and she even told him that she was ready to go with him to the states as that would have worked for her but he changed his mind once he decided to take the responposibilities of a Raj purohit. And i totally agree with about her character inheriting her qualites from her dad and grandmom. Except Grandmom is plain spitefull and very narrow minded. Evil will be the right word.😡

I am not in any way saying Vishakha is a SAINT she is far from it. She is as human as she can be and she doesn't pretend to be a saint. I am not even justifying her behaviour towards Rads, giving her the store room to live in. i thought that was a little too much meanness in her part and not required. But She was never understood too. She just wanted to live the life most of us are living and not get caught up in path pooja. I feel shastriji is at fault too as a parent he let his mom pamper her and let her get away with things just like he let Radhika get the abuse from amma and now he is in a helpless situation. He a person of so much values was a part to making Rads sit in the pooja with Dev. They all should have realized then that Vish was not cut out to be a bahu and done something about it.
Anyway the point being I am happy with the way they are potraying her right now and really hope they continue this trend
