~~~Happy Birthday Lavs (realitybites)~~~

As I walked aimlessly through the green woods

I saw a little girl wearing a red riding hood

"What are you doing, what's the big bother?"

"I'm taking some berries for my ill grandmother."

I walked further down through a red and yellow meadow

A little girl upon a rock cried like a weeping willow

"What's the matter, tell me girl, are you Bo Peep?"

"Yes" she sobbed, "I'm so sad, I've lost all my sheep."

A few yards away stood a tiny lass with a bunch of phlox

A head of golden curls she was my friend – Goldilocks

"What's the rush, why so afraid?" asked the brown hare

"Oh, Oh ! I am escaping from a family of three bears."

Along the fields I skipped, as I made my way

A little girl sat with her bowl of curds and whey

Her eyes full of tears, "Go away, you spider,"

I shooed him away and warned him not to sit beside her.

Down by the river, another girl was really on the go

And with her was her lamb, its fleece as white as snow.

"Where are you going, when the weather is so cool?"

"I am in a hurry, for I am going to school."

And there was Mary in her garden with her many flowers,

I dashed in to take shelter from the passing showers

Cockleshells and silver bells and plenty of blossom sprays

She grabbed a few and made for me a very pretty bouquet.

I smiled and took the bunch and hurried to my friend's

I sang along with the birds their highs, lows and blends

Through the door I went and gave her my flowers with dew
