@tasnime and uzee : Thanx a lot! I'm actually relieved the post made sense, I was worrying that it had become a tad too long and would lose its meaning!

Agree with u completely, "The richest are not the happiest and the poorest are not the saddest..." Archana was so much more happy in her in laws house, Sachin Vandu and even Savita's antics always made her smile, she had kaka for support and manav to love her, they did not burden her with unnecessary problems and budget tensions. In fact she never had to worry for money in that house!

All of your points are correct and this was something that I had been pondering. At the Karanjkar house they are always crying over money tensions. Nobody seems happy in that home, ever. There is always some type of stress, and it is usually connected to finances. Whereas at the Deshmukh house they all seem content with what they have. Manav has been shown to have a constant tension on money matters, but he tries his hardest to not let it affect others as opposed to the Karanjkars who fight over these things in front of everyone including Punni. All of this is really ironic in a sense, because Sulochana always put herself above Manav's family because they were richer. It doesn't seem like it anymore though, as Manav is running a house, paying for his sister's (and earlier brother's as well) education, and covering all the expenses that came with his marriage without complaining. In the Karanjkar house they all just cry over how little they have when they must make atleast twice as much as Manav. Also, I guess that after being on a low income for such a long time, the Deshmukh family has become good at problem solving. They're also probably so used to having a tight financial budget that it has just become normal and they learn to look past that. Want to go on a special date? Use your savings, you'll build it back up later, life goes on. Want a gold necklace? Take out a loan and set a goal to pay it off with overtime. Can't afford a caterer? Cook the food yourself, its only one day anyways, its not like you have to cook for 25 people everyday.Money can buy you lots of happiness, but its not always the happiness that you want.
