Do you have favorite films without your favorites?

Normally, we all have favorite actors and actresses. I am wondering whether you like movies that are without your favorite stars or do your favorite movies have one of your favorite stars? Do you have stars that you hate but you like one of their movies and it is actually one of your favorite movies?

For me I have about 5 favorites actors and 5 favorite actress so they are mostly in my favorite movies (I have about 15-20 movies that I love).

There is one exception: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I hate Salman and Ash but I liked the movie. I can attribute it more to Ajay's character but Ash was actually pretty good in the movie and Salman overacted in the climax scenes but he was endearing at some points.

Then there are some movies with both stars I love and stars I hate but I love the movie:

Jab We Met: I love Shahid but I dislike Kareena. However, I actually liked her as Geet. It is the only time I liked Kareena's chemistry with someone.

HAHK: I love Madhuri and I hate Salman but he was so endearing as Prem .The Salman-Madhuri jodi became one of my favorite jodis of all-time despite hating Salman.

Then the cases of old films:

Mughal-E-Azam and Lamhe- I know the stars but I have not seen enough of them to judge them. I have seen Anil and I am neutral towards him but I liked him in Lamhe.

So how is your list of favorite movies affected by who you like and dislike?

Yes loads of them. I don't hate any particular star/actor because that would be giving them too much importance. I have some favourites but I don't always like all of their films. And then there are other actors who are not my favourites but I have liked their films.

Some actors became my favourite through their films: Chitrangada, Abhay Deol. Others I liked because I saw they were getting unnecessary flak for their personal lives, or because people wanted to show them down to make their own favourite look good - like Deepika.

Some people who I don't like as a "fan" outside of their films:

Rani in Yuva, Hey Ram, Saathiya. She was also the only good thing about films like Black and Veer-Zaara but she alone could not get me to like these 2 films.

I only started liking Shahid after Jab We Met and then Kaminey. I wouldn't say I am a huge fan now, but I do like him more because of his films.

Kareena in Yuva, Chameli, Dev, Omkara and Jab We Met. Otherwise all of her other films just irritate me, but I like the ones I mentioned here.

Saif in Being Cyrus, Parineeta, Omkara, Dil Chahta Hai and Ek Haseena Thi.

Aamir Khan in a lot of his films but mostly 1947 Earth and then Lagaan.

SRK in films like Swades, Chak De, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Dil Se.

yes i do hav...i love rani and saif bt they r not my top favs,,, bt Hum Tum is def my top fav movie..

JWM.. now i love shahid like anything bt i dun like kkareena.. bt yeahh i loved her as geett soo yeahh...

i like amir and juhi bt not a huge fan of them b i loved qayamat se qayamt tak.. its my fav..

Aamir is not my favorite but I LOVE Rang De Basanti

I think Rani is ok but she had me spell bound in Black

Hera Pheri, Border and Khosla Ka Ghosla.

Otherwise my favourites are in films like Rang De, DCH, Hum Tum, Yuva, Lakshya, JWM and Andaaz Apna Apna.

umm,i dont like aamir as a "favorite"...but TZP ,Lagaan ,Sarfarosh, RDB,are my favorites....

umm,kareena isnt a favorite too,but i love JWM..:)..

same with abhishek,i love yuva....

movies like hungama and hera pheri r soo good,but none of the actors in their r my favorites...!!!

same with the munnabhai series,sanjay dutt isnt my fav either..!!

i liked Dor fr its uniqueness,though i dont like gul panag generally,i loved her in it..!!!...

i donno if any one has seen it,Diljale, ajay-sonali starrer,i love tht movie too..!!!

saif in hum tum,ek hasina thi....

but I LOVED mujhe shaadi karogi LOL

I really, really dislike SRK and almost all his films. But, I liked him in Chak De. Similarly, I do not like Vidya Balan. But, she was great in Parineeta.
