bascially it is a book (as someone earlier said) and it too is about vampires and now its a TV series that comes on the CW (I'm gonna give you the show version since I know that the best)...basically its about 2 brothers Damon(evil and sexy😛) and Stephen(good and hot😳)and they both fall for a girl called Elena(who is gorgeous herself) who went through a trauma herself when her parents died in a car accident...bascially Stephan is the new mysterious guy in town and most of the girls are attracted to him...but he feels drawn towards Elena and vice versa and they begin to date(in the 3rd episode)... and there is a mystery surrounding Damon and Stephan's rivalry with a girl called Catherine(who looks like Elena except she was alive in the 1850's) and basically in the show Elena is convinced that there's something fishy about Stephan and Damon...because she saw that one of her friends Caroline is being abused by Damon (he bit her and uses her as a puppet) and also becaus eher best friend Bonne who is a witch warns her about Stephan and weird feelings when he is around her
