Acid Factory will take you on roller coaster ride: Sanjay Gupta
New Delhi, Oct 11 :Sanjay Gupta, among the few stylish filmmakers in the Mumbai film industry today, says his latest film 'Acid Factory' too will take audiences on a ''thrill ride'' with loads of action and use of special affects.
''I have made several action films in the past like 'Kaante', 'Musafir' and 'Shootout At Lokhandwala'. However, 'Acid Factory' rates as my best action thriller till date not just in terms of its breathtaking action sequences but also due to the presence of 'unpredictable' twists at every turn. Infact, the film will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions,'' Sanjay told UNI here.
Released in cinemas Worldwide on October 9, 'Acid Factory' is a high octane thriller about a group of characters whose sense of past has vanished in a haze of coma and like the sleep they have woken up from only to discover that reality could be a figment of their imagination.
The film, which features an ensemble cast comprising Irrfan Khan, Fardeen Khan, Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani, Danny Denzongpa, Manoj Bajpai and Dia Mirza, is Sanjay's most ambitious and expensive venture till date.
''From Harley Davidsons to Hayaboozas, helicopters to speedboats and state of the art graphics and breathtakingly beautiful locales, 'Acid Factory' has it all,'' he said.
Sanjay said as a filmmaker, it has always been his endeavour to try something new with every cinematic offering.
''As a filmmaker, its has always been my endeavour to break new ground with every film of mine. This is something I have emulated from filmmakers like Mani Rathnam and J P Dutta that I have grown up watching,'' he said.
On the reason for choosing one film old Suparn Verma to direct 'Acid factory', he said as a producer it had been his endeavour to encourage new talented directors through his production house White Feather Films.
''As a producer, I believe in encouraging newcomers to direct films for my production house. I feel that these newcomers always come up with innovative ideas in their films and are ready to push the envelope when it comes to filmmaking techniques. Suparn Verma is one such brilliant director,'' Sanjay said.
On his reason for casting accomplished actors like Manoj Bajpai and Irrfan Khan for 'Acid Factory' rather than any big stars, he said, ''I am a filmmaker who casts his actors not for their saleability but according to whether they fit a particular character in my film. In any case, in the ultimate analyssis it is the script or story of the film that helps draw the audiences. Casting big stars in your film will not help if the film does not do well because of the poor script. Fortunately, all the actors featuring in 'Acid Factory' were excited when he or she read the script.'' Among his forthcoming films is 'Pankh' which stars Bipasha Basu and newcomer Maradona and 'The Great Indian Butterflies', directed by Sartakdas Gupta.
He will also soon begin work on 'Milte Hai' with Meghna Gulzar as the director.
