Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor on the sets of Aisha More Pics |
Forget about scorned women and the fury they might have, this man could give any of them a run for their money. And literally too, as money is the issue at the core of the problem.
Evidently Abhay Deol, shooting for Anil Kapoor's production Aisha, a remake of the classic Emma, is terribly scornful of the fact that his entire remuneration for the film (around Rs 20 lakh, we hear) is less than co-star Sonam Kapoor's hair and costume budget.
In retaliation, or perhaps because the New York returned Abhay now has altered food tastes, Abhay has insisted that he will only eat food prepared by a special cook who has been flown down from Mumbai. And the dishes he prepares cost a pretty penny. The hapless producer (Sonam's sister Rhea Kapoor) has offered to order food from any eatery in the capital where the film is currently being shot, but to no avail. Reportedly the expensive cook and his expansive cuisine have caused the budget to expand to indecent proportions.
Abhay plays George Knightley to Sonam's Emma in Aisha.
Eyewitnesses say the Deol's lack of interest and involvement in the film is obvious. Abhay, who usually submerges himself completely in every film he does, emerges from his van only to give his shot and scoots back to his haven of comfort. That he is his usual competent self when performing, is scant compensation for the producers who bear the brunt of his crankiness
Mumbai: Gone are the days when the starry B-town divas and their much publicized catfights became the scoop of the day! Recently, Bollywood newbie Abhay Deol had an acrimonious encounter with the Anil Kapoor's production team for his upcoming release 'Aisha' over money issues.
Buzz has it that a shocked Abhay Deol is unhappy over the fact that his entire remuneration for 'Aisha' (Rs 20 lakhs) is far less that whatever is spent upon Sonam Kapoor's make-up, hairdo and couture budget!
However, a New York returned Abhay is in no mood to take things lying down as the actor has started showing off his true colours. The actor is hell bent upon eating food prepared by his cook who has been flown down from Mumbai. It is believed that the food prepared for Abhay costs a bomb! Nevertheless, poor producer (Rhea Kapoor) can do nothing accept taking orders from Abay which have finally left her in a dizzy.
According to a close source from the sets of 'Aisha', Abhay radiates lack of motivation on the movie sets. On the movie sets of 'Aisha', the otherwise gregarious actor who is known for his commitment comes out of his vanity van only when he has a scene to shoot. It seems a royal cut in Abhay's pay package has left the in a weird state of mind!
