Do you agree? Most GPs opted out of providing cover at nights and weekends in 2004 and since then primary care trusts have been in charge of providing such care, often relying on private firms working under NHS contracts.
The Care Quality Commission says that trusts are failing to properly monitor the quality of care provided and that variations in monitoring standards between trusts point to a nationwide problem.
