I don't know if anyone else watches this show, but I really like it due to the strong writing and good character development. It is one of my favorite shows. Unfortunately, it was a summer show, so the season just ended. But it will be picked up by ABC Family for another one according to the following article.

Lindsey Shaw is awesome as Cat. She is decent at doing those sarcastic lines. Even though it is a teen show, I like the fact that it isn't too unbelievable and something that is kind of intelligent to watch. Ethan Peck is the unrepentant bad boy a.k.a Patrick Verona and has a certain allure about him.

Cat's sister Bianca is your typical focused on appearances and popularity sort of teenager, who is willing to do anything to be accepted and is the antithesis of her socially conscious sister, Cat. When they move from Ohio to California, Bianca is in panic mode, trying to kiss up to Chastity (the queen bee). Of course, she is unable to see the complications when Chastity's boyfriend starts to fall for her because she is the only one, who understands his modeling auditions. At the end of the first season, he (Joey Donner) and Bianca kiss and Chastity has not yet found out about them.

Also, I enjoy Cameron as the lovable loser and Cat's and Bianca's dad, who is no nonsense but at the same time very soft as shown when he starts talking about how his wife would be proud of them (his daughters).

Somehow, Cameron may be the most helpless character, but the is also the most good at heart, always there for Bianca, so it is sad to see the nice guy finish last when he is the one, who has always been there for Bianca, but she has not reciprocated.

Many may say it is just a modern and not so good version of My So-Called LIfe, but I think it is a darn good show. And it is rare for its normal quality in this era. So it may remind one of the 90s shows, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Somehow, it is refreshing in the era of glam like Bratz dolls to see some regular people with some normal story lines.

Sorry, to give some spoilers, but I am new to the introduction stuff.

Feel free to share your thoughts and impressions of the show if you have seen it.

It aired on ABC Family channel in the U.S.

camerons character was the elast developed of the lot

the series in comparison to the movie had much mroe focus on kat rather than anybody else...

the best part of it was that Kats character was very well retained till the last episode

she was the very feminist till the end

it was awesome

and patrick had a deep baritone voice which was cool too!!!

Lindsey Shaw, Ethan Peck, 10 Things I Hate About You ABC FAMILY/VIVIAN ZINK

Ladies and gentlemen, meet 10 Things I Hate About You, the newest member of the great summer shows club.

Based on the 1999 movie of the same name, 10 Things takes the framework of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew and remodels it into an endearing teen rom-com with room to spare for feminism, morality and wonderful silliness. The acting and writing is entirely squee-worthy and if things continue to go according to plan, it might just become an all-time great, in the tradition of My So-Called Life, Buffy and The O.C.

So, what is this series, why should you watch, and what's to come? Read on to find out the 10 things you need know about 10 Things I Hate About You:

1. As star Ethan Peck says, "The show is different from the film. We're trying to reimagine the characters and the ideas and the situations." What's different? Well, it's set in California, not Washington; the Stratford sisters are new arrivals in Padua, not long-time residents; and Peck's "outsider" version of Patrick Verona won't be showboating in the football stands la the iconic Heath Ledger "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" scene.

2. Ethan Peck's Patrick Verona doesn't say much for the first three episodes, but he does start talking eventually. The actor—who says he's a total "space case" in real life and says he uses the phrase, "Wait...what?" more than any other—told us he finally gets chatty around episode four. (Show runner Carter Covington says of the part, which does involve a lot of broody skulking and locker-leaning, "I kept thinking of Jordan Catalano from My So-Called Life.")

3. Covington tells us that there will very likely be kissing before the end of the season. When and how? Well, episode seven is titled "Light My Fire," it features Patrick's first visit to his leading lady Kat Stratford's house, and the actors sound very excited about it. As Kat herself (Lindsey Shaw) tells us, by the second half of the season, their relationship will "move away from the comedy, more towards the relationship side of things." Whoo-hoo!

4. As much as you'll go gaga for Ethan Peck, you'll want to be best friends with Lindsey Shaw's Kat. Shaw nails all the sarcasm and well-written wit inherent to the role of Katherine/Kat/"the shrew," but there's more to her than that—she really is interesting. Like Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy (from the most successful movie-to-TV adaptation ever), Shaw's Kat Stratford has high school problems, but she has bigger problems, too. As Shaw puts it, "Kat's almost kind of like a hero-crusader kind of person. She's always got a campaign."

5. Kat's baby sister Bianca, meanwhile, is played by the adorable Meaghan Jette Martin. As Meaghan explains about her character: "[Bianca] definitely doesn't have her priorities straight, but what makes her fun and likable and relatable is [that] she's not quite sure where she's going in life."

If you miss out on 10 Things I Hate About You, you will kick yourself. It is the best thing that ABC Family has ever produced; it's funny, smart and sweet; and we swear on our teenage love interests that your devoted viewership will be rewarded.

Warning, it is not as good at the movie. But I think it is a pretty decent attempt at a t.v. show from ABC Family. If you search on Youtube, you can find the episodes if someone is not from North America.:)

Awesome topic, Nimmi! This show kept me sane over the summer, and I ended up watching it in August, but I absolutely loved it. The movie is better though there is something different about this show that makes it appealing to me. I will add more on this later.
