my personal exp is that untouchability exists only in some villages. though there R some other type of discrmn in cities too but not that prevalent. The law keepers need to act a bit tough thats all .

You cannot compare to China. The simple reason is that China is not a democratic country and they have a spine, so there are no expectations on her. India is a democracy and must meet expectations of western countries.

Caste system is not state sponsored but cultural based discrimination which is acknowledged and efforts are on to overcome it by the our state and Hindu society itself....but the naked fact is racism, prejudice, regionalism. discrimination due to race, cpolour, gender is worldwide. Can they stop that. If they cant stop that then why go after the Indian caste system. Stop Americans for being racist, stop australians for their racism . Stop them then stop Indians.
if Hindus abolish caste system it means demolition of their religion itself..this cannot happen..hence no Hindu will ever be serious to weed out castism..so the only way out for these deprived sections is to convert to other religions which treat him as an equal human..these deprived generally embrace thus Christianity,Buddism or islam..which ever seems more beneficial to them..after all who doesnt want to live with dignity..on the other hand there are fanatics or deeply hurt Hindus who cry hoarse against this conversion..as they see the conversions..but till date what has been done other than blame the Netas..who in most cases again belong to the Majority community..crocodile tears!!
But India must stop all reservations and give equal rights to all citizens.you cant force people to change their behaviour. govt cant force people to marry in other caste. Personal decisions cant be enforced .Since Caste is equal to Culture in India, Govt must promote cultural and socio-economically DIVERSE communities in Private Institutions and Public Establishments viz Temples,Judiciary and Defense Services in 50:35:15 (BC:SCST:OC) ratio in India.
And there are only Castes and NO Hindus or Hinduism in India till 85% of marriages are Inter-Caste.This is the only way to STOP dis-integration of India.

uff...🤔where am I now lol

What has india (government) done exactly..? 😛

India has done far more for the underprivileged class in 60 years than america has done for its underprivileged class. Reservations/providing opportunities, subsidizing education.
Today in India if you are a underprivleged member, your next generation can make it out on a equal footing as anyone else if you put an effort, that is called providing real opportunity and the govt has made that possible
Indian Govt has made a law that that calling someone Dalit or untouchable is equivalent to calling someone the "N" word in America. It is considered offensive😉
