Highlights : Anandi helps out her parents.
Bhago is unable to go to work since she has high fever. The supervisor comes looking for her and yells at Khajan saying they are lazy people. He threatens to throw them out of their hut. Anandi looks on. She goes to the manager and requests to hire her for the day. The manager is not sure since she is so young, but Anandi assures him that she will manage. The manager agrees to hire her for the day and tells her to do small work, like taking cement from one place and passing it through a seive. Anandi agrees.
Anandi starts to carry a load of cement in a tray on her head. She struggles under the weight and falls down. The supervisor comes there and yells at her for not being able to do the job. The manager comes there and offers her money to take and go home for the day. Anandi refuses and begs for one more chance. The manager agrees. Anandi gets up and carries the cement to the seive. The laborers around feel bad for her.
Meanwhile, Khajan comes looking for Anandi and is shocked to see her working. He runs to stop her and falls down. Anandi comes there and helps him up. Khajan asks her to stop working and come back, but anandi refuses saying she will only work for a day and then Bhago can work. She makes Khajan swear on her to not stop her. Khajan leaves very upset.
At the end of the day's work, the supervisor makes everyone place their fingerprint and pays them money. Anandi notices that he makes them sign for more, but pays less money. She refuses to sign. The supervisor threatens to pay her nothing, so Anandi takes her money and leaves. Bhago asks for Anandi and Khajan tells about her working. Bhago gets very upset and gets up to fetch Anandi. Anandi comes there with medicines for her parents. Her parents are ashamed and very upset. Bhago sees some wounds on Anandi's arm and begins to cry while Khajan beats himself. Anandi consoles her parents that she is happy as long as they are with her.
